“MOMENTS OF LIFE”

German artist Hendrik Beikirch, aka ECB, rejects the sleek youthfulness of so much of our urban visual aesthetic. His large eye-catching monochromatic murals of both documentary and fictional portraiture present genuine characters, clearly with stories to tell—despite their anonymity, or perhaps all the more because of it. His additions to our urban landscape have been called “our silent companions, reminders of our common humanity and representations of both actual individuals and the diverse populations of the modern city.” In 2014 for the No Limits festival in Borås, Sweden, this ECB portrait overlooking busy Arlagatan was recreated from a piece done a year earlier for Galerie Wolfsen in Denmark. @nolimitboras @galeriewolfsen
