Wow. I bought one of these Henkaa convertible dresses online--unsure of how it would look when it got here. Damn, this thing is flattering. A++ for Henkaa.

Highly recommended for anybody who has that derby booty going on.

Because Henkaa’s Sakura (Mini) Convertible Dress is designed to take you from one look to another, I wanted to really challenge myself. The challenge was to create numerous looks and integrate it into my style –all while wearing the Sakura Convertible Dress. The material is light-weight with a bit of a stretch to it. When it comes to styling the dress, it feels like it's hugging you in all the right places without any discomfort. (Perfect dress for buffets or all you can eat sushi dates!) One of the best things about this dress is that you can scrunch it up, roll it into a ball, or toss it into your luggage and it will come out picture perfect every time! 

Like I said in my previous post, choosing just one style and colour was really hard for me. I ended up choosing the Sakura Mini Convertible dress in Navy. The Mini cut, because it's easier to style into something casual, and navy because it's a great alternative to black and can be transitioned into any season. 

With that in mind, I’m introducing a new segment on the blog, one that shows more of my own personal style. I guess I’m still battling with blogger’s anxiety, but I’ve kicked the door wide open and I’m ready. 

First up, my Sakura Convertible Mini Style challenge.

Worn in the (sleeved and tank) "Kate" style, I wanted to show how easy and casual it could look.

everything changes

Henkaa is a big supporter of women and they're all about celebrating women of all sizes. It was important for me to find a company that encompassed everything I’m passionate about to truly support. Henkaa’s vision is to empower women of all sizes and to spark that sense of self-expression through this versatile dress.

I’m a huge supporter of women supporting women. So Henkaa hit all the right notes with me with their Sakura Convertible Dress. That being said, I was able to go into their main headquarters, (located near Yorkdale shopping centre) for a styling session! It was great to chat with Sylvia and Julie of Henkaa. These two ladies were awesome at showing me just how versatile the dress is! Mind you, I was already impressed during Lotus Leaf’s #PRESSDAYS where I first saw the dress, but seeing it and wearing it are two completely different things. 

The styling session felt really comfortable, as if I was chatting with two friends while casually trying on different dresses and styles. They showed me variations of styles with the three different lengths: mini, midi, and maxi. As they continued to impress me with the million and one ways the dress transforms, it was making my decision to take one home that much harder. 

While I did walk away with their Sakura Mini Convertible dress and an Infinity bra (the best bra, ever by the way), I do plan on getting all the lengths sometime in the future. It’s such a good price for a dress that is just as versatile as your own style. Plus, the company is all about empowering and supporting women, so there’s no doubt in my mind that Henkaa is all about positive changes all around, and I definitely can get down with that.
