Don't Forget Who Your Wife Is || Henley & Colton (closed)
"See you next week!" Henley called out as she waved after her last class of the day. She watched carefully until the last kid and their parents arrived at their cars and pulled out of the parking lot. After Brett was attacked, Henley had upped her wariness of the nighttime. She worried constantly about any humans she knew. But for now, the worrying could calm. She stepped back inside the gym and locked the front door. After going back to the break room, grabbing her phone and bag, she called Brett to make sure she was in her house and safe. Without Toby around now, Henley found she was being an overprotective mama bear about Brett. She knew Josie felt the same way.
She made it to her car without becoming a vampire snack and once she was in her Mustang and the heat was warming the cold vehicle, she sent a text to Colton.
I'm coming over. I need hubby time.
Henley honestly couldn't remember a time when she and Colton weren't calling each other husband and wife. She was fairly certain it was a day or so after she'd developed boobs. And when she'd kicked his ass and still looked A+ while doing it. What could she say, she was a fine lady. It really made her wonder how she'd gone her whole life without having a real relationship... Then she remembered that she hung out with the Belfront family, and it became very clear why.
By the time she'd pulled up at Colton's house, it was near ten thirty at night. She'd - of course - stopped to pick up a bottle of Jack Daniels. Because she was a good fake wife. She was pretty pro at scaring off any women who thought they could get more than a one night stand with Colton. Well, besides the two he'd actually dated. But she'd rather liked both of the women he'd dated. Well, until Blair up and left. She'd sided right alongside the rest of his family in disliking her.
She quietly pressed the door open, unsure if the boys were there or if they'd been kidnapped by one of their many uncles. "Colt?" she whispered loudly into the house as she pressed the door shut. And when he appeared, she smiled brightly and raised the bottle of Jack to him, "I brought you things, because I have to remind you that I'm the best damn wife you'll ever have." She then paused before adding, "Are the boys here?"
