Very impressive - the detail on the sculptures is amazingly accurate. He also did metal sculptures.

Talking bout Trump - making America great again

“America first.”

- Entered competition - 3D // Installation piece - God I love you - Who is your real GOD? Covered in money - because the statue was expensive. Another sculpture - Big Brother Jesus being crucified taking a selfie (talks about people dying whilst trying to take the perfect selfie: couple fell off a cliff and girls got into a car crash etc) More installations / sculptures - paper penguins climbing over plastic bottles - perhaps representing ice caps melting and plastics taking over the sea - links back into student's work about plastic and pollution.

His work, based on Jesus being crucified, whilst taking a selfie is very relevant to the current young generation, where there is a need to show off, through social media and selfies. Messages are sent over social media but people can go to extremes to send a message. I am trying to pull away from social media. From looking at the work based on Jesus being crucified, I became inspired to take a step back from social media, which can have a negative affect mental health. This resonates with my work because I raise awareness for mental health. Social media is one of the biggest platforms for mental health. You can hide your insecurities behind a screen and pretend to be someone you are not. People , who you follow can have an extreme effect, both negative and positive. Hiding behind screens is also a cowards way of bullying, with cyber bullying even causing suicide. The artist also mentioned self induced death by people taking selfies and accidentally falling of cliffs, being in road accidents - all to take the perfect selfie. This has taken me to a place where I was not ready to be in. This is very personal and I am struggling with exploring mental health through social media. I eventually, when I am ready, would like to explore this topic further, but not yet.

I think the artist should not present to many concepts and should focus on what people can relate to more, perhaps one concept at a time. I would like to have seen more work based on selfies. It was also interesting to observe how other people react to this topic.
