Focusing her powers and cutting the connection with all the pent up frustration and isolation she felt pushing her powers further than she had really tried before.
Holding perfectly still, Henry felt her fingers brush against the small scar on his neck where Soteria had been placed under his skin. "You can do it, Ruby. I know you can," he said softly. "You're strong."
If she could find that strength, they could both be free. She just had to disable the chip and he could do the rest. Her power was their salvation.

Hugging and physical affection was usually discouraged in the lab. Anything more than holding the experiments hands usually resulted in Henry getting punished. However, because this hug was initiated by Ruby instead of him, Henry would only get a warning.
It came as a surprise, Henry wasn't expecting the hug. But he hugged back, enjoying the rare feeling of affection. When she pulled away, Henry looked at her curiously. "What was that for?" he asked.
