Amber Run – Music Hall of Williamsburg – December 8, 2018
Having released a new EP earlier in the year, Nottingham, England, trio Amber Run stopped in Brooklyn on Saturday night to fill Music Hall of Williamsburg with lush, cinematic pop tunes that had the crowd singing along.

I just got a copy of 5AM and I obviously read the thank yous at the end of the booklet. So, basically:
Joe: thanks his family, his friends and his band mates, like you do.
Tom: thanks his family because he knows he has to. Doesn’t want to do that, doesn’t even put a period at the end of the sentence.
Felix: thanks people calling them by nickname and for funny reasons. Thanks Tinder.
Will: is genuinely grateful to his family and expresses his gratitude with heartfelt little comments. Dedicates the record to his grandparents who are not with him anymore.
Henry: thanks his teachers. Makes a joke about people not believing in him (that I’m not sure is a joke).
It’s scary how easy it was for me to recognize them in their thank yous. Especially Will and Felix, which is odd because they left the band quite early. But I mean, it’s pretty obvious that Felix was the “funny one”, so it comes as no surprise that his thank yous would reflect that. And Will… I don’t know. It’s like he looks tough with the cheek bones and the piercing blue eyes, but then you see lots of pictures and videos where he is leaning his head on someone or touching them in some way or just looking at them with a look that says nothing less than “you are my best friend and I love you very much” and I just know that he’s the sweetest human being. It makes me really sad that he left after reading how grateful and happy he was about this first album and I wish I could know what he’s been up to. I hope he’s happy. I hope they both are.
