so I've been thinking about the willow music video a lot and I keep going back to the moment where Taylor follow the gold string and we see her lover staying behind, because it confused me a lot at first. why would she follow the string if he is right there? and how come when she does follow it to the end she ends up where he is? and the more I think about it, the more it makes sense. the whole idea behind this string is that you and your partner are connected during your life and somehow you end up together at the right time. the moment we see her walking away from him shows that that particular moment just wasn’t the right time. but it doesn’t matter, because her path leads her to him no matter what. you can also see the relief on her face when she sees him in the cabin, kind of like the look you see on her face in the delicate music video when she enters the dive bar and sees him.
