beautiful words are too dull to describe the love + admiration i have for this woman that i get to call my best friend.
second hike in a few days with two of my favorite people; my best friend and my dad.
thankful for quick phone calls with my best friend that start with tears and end with comfort.
mornings with my best friend at her apartment + homemade iced coffee (that she made) + morning prayer + morning light.
thank you, Lord, for people like my best friend, shal. she calls me to catch up when it's been a while since we've seen her (being a grown up with a busy schedule sucks), and let's me just cry about things that i wasn't even aware were affecting me as much as they are. she lets me verbally process things, situations, and relationships. she shares my excitement and my sorrow, and she walks with me through each trial and celebration. she truly understands my intense need of desire and how much it bothers me. she reminds me of the fact that we're both human, we make mistakes, and that's okay. best of all: she always asks how she can pray for me.
thank you, Lord, for people like shal. she is so good at inviting me into her life, being transparent, walking with me through all seasons of life, asking me the hard questions, pushing me to improve, making me laugh to the point of tears, and putting my thoughts into words when i can't. she is beyond patient with me, which is the thing i consistently need most. she understands when i have no words, she extends christlike love to me every day, and has shown me what it means to represent proverbs 31.
Daddy-daughter lovin’.
