on the subject of lace and phantom, i know a lot of people think that lace was always designed with the intention to replace phantom. and while we don't have any evidence one direction or the other, i always figured that gms' intention was always to have more than one child. she seems to value having a particularly large family... otherwise she likely could have stopped after ascending one pharlid and just called it a day
