So many people forget that people who work 3rd shift need sleep too..
Just a reminder that most of us are sleep deprived, never get a healthy amount of sleep, or a restful sleep, and are constantly pushing ourselves to stay up more of the day than we should. Even in the RARE times we do get a full eight hours of sleep before we go back to work we don't get it all at once, we get it in increments: an hour here, an hour a few hours later etc. There's a real thing called SWSD that I have that stands for "Shift Work Sleep Disorder." So many people I've worked with have had wrecks by falling asleep at the wheel. When you have SWSD you can't focus, your easily irritable, depressed, your also at higher risk for ulcers and other health conditions. The many ways this screws with people really goes on and on. I know it can be hard for people that's never dealt with it, but just try to be respectful of people that work the graveyard shift. I've had five hours of sleep in three days and have been woken up three times today by a family member and I'm about to freak.😭😴
