when her parents aren't around, her house was always a safe space. free of judgement. free of expectations. he was quite literally the talk of the town so she chose her words wisely. less is more in this situation. it's been a couple of days and she took a guess as to where he was hiding - after having checked several places already. the house seemed to be empty but it was obvious someone had been here recently. hearing commotion from the boathouse, savannah heads there next. she slowly pushes the door open and has a look around but he's nowhere to be found. " eddie ? " her voice barely louder than a whisper. she waits for some sort of response, then tries again. " eddie, it's savannah. i'm alone ... eddie ? it's okay to come out if you're here. "

neither wayne nor eddie had been here when she came to seek refuge, making herself at home on eddie's bed. one of his tapes playing to drown out the thoughts in her mind. the door to the rv creaking open is what makes her sit up and once eddie comes in sight, she flashes him a pained grin. bruises on her arms, one on her face as well as the red, swollen eyes might give away why she's here. " can i crash here tonight ? " asked in a desperate tone - unusual for miss daisy unwin yet they both know it was more of a 'i'm gonna crash here tonight, okay?'.

a shaky hand reaches out for the jacket, wrapping himself in it almost immediately. it's so cold like this, and sometimes he can understand why his father preferred the other form. he feels so tiny and useless and awful all of a sudden, and the only thing keeping him from getting sick is that he doesn't know if he can make himself move.

"are they..." he knows that they're dead. and he knows that they were going to die. and he knows that he shouldn't look but he can't help himself. "fuck.... i..." he's tearing up now, and he's shaking. really bad. "eddie, where are we gonna go?"

36. your muse surprises mine with dinner

oh, something doesn't smell right. the second she opens the door, it hits her. the smell of something burning as well as a bunch of smoke that makes her wonder why the fire alarm didn't go off yet. leaving the door open behind her to let some fresh air in, she walks further inside. a hand routinely waving in front of her face. she finds eddie in the kitchen, surrounded by ... a couple of things. it was harder than expected to make out the source of the smoke. " what are you doing ? " she was just gone for an hour and he almost burns the house down. who knows what her parents would say ... what they don't know won't bother them. she moves to open the glass door leading to the backyard and all the windows. " seriously, what are you doing ? "
