jenni!!! for your event, can I request freddy characters having a crush on the reader pls? [preferences] cause i feel like how each character would act would be so drastically different and it'll be cool to see what you come up with. 👀

FREDDY EVENT, send in requests for any of Freddy Carter's characters (NOT the man himself (= no Freddy Carter (the real person) x readers), only his characters)!! (Other requests are open too, but they go to my normal to-do list which I'm not able to start doing til March at earliest)

Hehe I had something like this in mind already when I made the event post-

I'm gonna do the crushes with like, not saying it straight if Y/N has feelings for them too because that's more interesting imo 😄

Again, all the gifs are made + colored by me.

Warnings: again, slight sexual mention with Jason's section... both of these scenarios just kind of give vibes that it might lead to that and like c'mon, if you aren't creeped out by his crush, you're messed up too 😅

Characters: all of Freddy Carter's existing characters! So they are Kaz Brekker from Shadow and Bone, Pin Hawthorne from Free Rein, Ellis from The Convent, Jason Ripper from Pennyworth and Tom from 15 Days.

Pin: He easily thinks less of himself compared to other boys, so when he realizes having feelings for you, he's immediately insecure. Marcus is the heartstopper at the stables, not him. Why would you even notice him? Or notice him like that? He has been invisible to everyone, just a regular stable boy at the background, why would you suddenly notice him? The Squad notices his fond looks at you though, and they convince him to go talk to you and get to know you better. Even if you didn't have feelings for him now, you could possibly develop them after you'd notice what a sweetheart Pin is, a boy with a golden heart who would do anything for the people he cares about.

So he began to talk to you, began to spend time with you, and he befriended you quickly. You were supportive of him through Holloway and all that pressure he went through when he became a Duke. And, he found himself thinking, even if you'd never become a real couple, he would be more than content to be just friends with you. You just brought light into his life, even if you wouldn't cuddle and kiss.

Kaz: He hides it immediately after he realizes/allows himself to realize why his heart beats a bit faster every time you smile at him or compliment him and why does he feel the need to protect you and instinctively cuts you out from any dangerous tasks, giving you the safest tasks possible. After his realization, he might even ignore you completely for a while in order to pull himself together, making you puzzled why is he treating you like that. You had executed your part in heists/your given tasks flawlessly and hadn't made any mistakes elsewhere either (touching him etc), so Kaz's behavior towards you didn't make sense, especially when you thought you had just started to become closer, even friends.

Inej (with the slight help from Nina because she wants to be sure she interprets Kaz's behavior right) catches up on Kaz's feelings first, and tries to tell him to come into terms with it, reminding that even he deserves love and to be loved. But Kaz knew that nobody knew about your thoughts and your feelings towards him, you hadn't talked about your love life to anyone. You might even have someone. He constantly tried to tell himself that he doesn't have any chances with you, but he still couldn't help but be visibly jealous whenever he saw you in someone else's arms, wishing that it could be him holding you there, kissing the top of your head and letting you fall asleep against his shoulder or on his lap after an exhausting day, that he would be even able to do any of that.

Sometimes he thought that he saw you staring at him and quickly turning away when he looked at you, giving him hope, that damned feeling he hated. It was just better to try and forget you completely - but he failed every time he saw even a glimpse of you. He even considered kicking you out of the Dregs so he'd forget you, but he had grown to like you too much to let you go, and it wasn't like you even had anywhere else to go either. And eventually, he gave up and stopped ignoring you and let some hope enter his life. Maybe Inej was right - maybe you two could actually become something.

Tom: Usually he'd just go straight up and ask the person he likes out, but you're someone he actually really likes and with his messed up family, he isn't sure if he wants to drag you into that. He ponders with his feelings for a while, but eventually decides to follow his feelings and feel around his surroundings to see if you have any chance of liking him back.

Eventually he does ask you out though, just hoping you would say yes, because he feels stronger for you than anyone else before. And when you do and tell him that you've been hoping to get to know him better, he feels better than in ages. Even his father yelling at him when he gets back home can't completely ruin his mood - he just hopes that you wouldn't back away once you see how messed up his family is, or judge him for his troubled nature.

Jason: Ok if he has a crush on you, it might feel disturbing at first. Because it's not just a crush, it's a slight obsession. He stalks you a bit, might appear to your door and workplace and makes "flirty" comments about your looks that might give you anxiety. And every man who shows even slight interest in you during his crush is in a big trouble (the gif depicts one of those situations).

Of course, if you're into that and feel flattered with such attention from him, then it's not a problem. Maybe you're attending to Crowley's parties too and like the thrill and freedom it brings? You end up always dancing together there and might even sleep together a few times purely for fun (if you're into that), and even though Jason doesn't know if you have feelings for him, he has decided to make you his and believes you'll fall for him too eventually.

Ellis: He becomes shy around you once he starts to catch feelings for you, and they grow fast, making him even shyer. It's very obvious he has feelings for you, everyone at the village sees how he looks at you. He might buy/pick you some flowers but at least at first, he's not brave enough to give them to you and instead, leaves them to your porch and can't help but smile when he sees that you've put them in a vase on your dining table when he visits you.

He becomes slightly bolder with showing affection over time, testing if there would be a possibility that you have feelings for him too (it's clumsy though because he doesn't want to feel intrusive). He just hopes that he would be able to tell you how he feels before you'd possibly find someone else and his carriage would pass, as it would definitely shatter his heart.

Hshshshshsh my first Freddy's character preference... been waiting for this, we'll see how this goes. I'm gonna do the first date as I think that would be the most interesting with them c:

Also some of these turned out as a kind of mini drabbles because, for example with Kaz, I felt like it needs a lot of backstory of how exactly did you two end up on a date when at least he is how he is (I wrote his section first) 😅 Others came in accidentally...

This one took a bit longer because I made all the gifs for this + the next preference, Ellis's gif is used twice though because he doesn't have much material online 😅 I also did gifs for Kaz and Pin, even though I wouldn't have had to because there are plenty of them but I felt like it 🤷🏻‍♀️

Warnings: slight sexual mention + alcohol consumption/being drunk (with Jason's section), also I'm not able to actually watch The Convent (Jenni + horror = a year long nightmares, so nope) but I have tried to research Ellis as much as I could and build a picture of him based on what I found. I'm sorry if I got something wrong.

Pin: He didn't ask you out (the boi is too insecure of himself for that and is too afraid to be rejected), you were the one to ask him out. Well, you wouldn't have asked him either but the Pony Squad had threatened to tell Pin about how much and for how long you had crushed on him and how much you talked about him to them if you wouldn't go and ask him for a ride, to grab a coffee or something, because they just can't watch you two drooling after each other and listen to your complaining how in love you are with Pin and how he definitely won't like you back even when they tried to tell you that they know Pin likes you back.

So you went for a ride, just talking while riding side by side. You stopped by the beach, sitting on the rocks and eating some sandwiches you had made. Pin confessed his feelings for you just as you were about to confess yours, saying he can't keep them in anymore, and you just stared at him with wide eyes before breaking into a wide smile and lurching forward to hug him.

The next time the Squad saw you, you were walking through the yard, holding hands and Becky and Jade started jumping in place from excitement and squealing as the mission had been accomplished.

You had never seen Pin so red. But needless to say, you'll go on a second date after a few days.

Kaz: You and him had been dancing around your feelings for months, neither bold enough to confess. Kaz was clearly jealous about you when he saw you in Jesper's arms but not saying anything, and you were constantly opening up to Jesper and Nina that Kaz would never love you back but wouldn't listen when they tried to tell you that Kaz clearly does love you back. So one day, they tricked you two on a date together (Nina claimed that there's something important to tell and she needs every Crow to meet at the Club after midnight, but of course when you got there, there were just you two, and Nina had made it obvious that it was a set-up date, with a set table a pot of flowers, two plates of nicely put together meals and (not lit) candles. Kaz's face flickered through frustration and embarrassment, before settling on its regular, stoic expression and he sighed deeply as you glanced at him.

"Well... we won't put that to waste? Or will we?" you had asked carefully, and Kaz had slowly turned his gaze on you, his brows furrowed, not expecting you to say that. But he had nodded anyway, and you sat down at the table, lighting up the candles and having a date which was first very awkward, but you ended up having a good time in the end, and also a confirmation that your feelings actually are mutual. Your first date wasn't anything "mind-blowing" and you of course didn't kiss or anything when Kaz walked you to your room's door at the Slat and said good night before climbing up to his own room at the attic, but it was still a night you'd remember for the rest of your life, and you hoped that Kaz would be willing to go on a second date.

Tom: As soon as his mother hears that Tom has taken a liking to someone and has a "thing" going on, she calls you two to come dine with her and Tom's father, and that became your first date.

It was kinda a bad call though, you can tell Tom and his father don't like each other very much, and that results in slightly uncomfortable situation as he starts to be slightly snarky at him and his dad starts to lose his temper on Tom too. You take his hand under the table, giving it a brief squeeze as if to say "that's enough, I get it" and make an excuse to make an exit after thanking his mother for a delicious dinner, laying a gaze on Tom saying that he should follow you outside.

At first, Tom thinks that you're going to berate him about being snarky at his father and ruining the mood and prepares to defend himself, but you could see the signs between them and told him that you guessed that his father is abusive and that's why he was acting like that. You'll drive away and he takes you to a cafe to have dessert as an apology for the beginning of your date not going so well and despite sensing that he's kinda troubled, you also feel like you could get the possible relationship to work and agree to go on a second date to get to know each other better.

Jason (E6-E7): He first saw you when you were out with your friends at a bar, celebrating something. And well, needless to say, he asks you out after watching you for a while. And won't take a no and would continue asking you until you said yes, so fortunately you're nuts and accepted when he first asked, saves you both time. The night began with eating out, but after that you attended one of Crowley's parties together and danced all night.

That night most likely ends in you two passionately making out on the couch and after that, his bedroom, at least with Jason being more or less drunk, but you fell to sleep before doing anything more (or then, if you were clear, you didn't want to use his drunk state as an advantage). You'll wake up first when sun rises in his bed with his arm draped over you, slightly dizzy from everything that had happened last night. For some, that might have been too much with a person you just met, but you liked it and had fun, so you didn't mind. You go on a second date with him a week after the first one.

Ellis: He had developed feelings for you for a long while, but he hadn't been sure if you like him too, if you'd be interested in him. But eventually, he got the courage to go ask your parent or the person who raised you if they feel like it's ok to them for him to ask you out, as he didn't want to disrespect your family by just barging in as him asking you out would basically mean that you'll get married someday (as it was 17th century). Your family had taken him in with open arms though and had given their blessing for him to court you, and so he had asked you out.

You'd take walks in the park and just talking with each other, let your feelings slowly developing into something more. If you're a woman, you wouldn't normally have much of choice if Ellis wanted to marry you some day, but for him it was really important that you felt comfortable with him, he'd ask for your consent before your first kiss and for first times in anything intimate, he wouldn't do anything without asking you first. Falls in love with you harder every time you go on dates, and so do you. He's just a total sweetheart. ♥
