Related to the precious native language being threatened by English -thing:

Yes Finnish is my first language, and it is a cool language, and there is a lot of English creep in Finland.

But I am writing a short academic review for a publication that accepts contributions in English, and I am writing it in English.

Yes developing fields of study in our native languages is important, and it would be more likely that Finnish colleagues read it if it's Finnish (despite all this "everyone speaks English" propaganda many professionals even in humanities have actually pretty crappy English like they can make do but it is a struggle, so if they don't gotta they won't).

But the field of museology/museum studies is really small even globally, and we are already in the bullshit situation where basically English speaking, Spanish speaking, and French speaking museology worlds didn't talk to each other for decades because no one was translating and most people don't speak/read all three languages, so we haven't been able to build on each others work. Hell one of the most important museologists/heritologists ever is from Croatia but nobody outside of Croatia understands his work when it's written in Croatian.

I am writing a thing that is relevant beyond the fields of Finnish museums and museology. So I'm writing it in English.

Vlado piše diplomski / Vlado writing a thesis

Hi! I'm Vlado and i'm writing my graduation theesis, or better to say theses. One's on the subject of a certain heritology project at the museology department, and the other is dealing with urbanistic and architectural qualities of one urban unit. Since it has been hard only to start writing it i've opened thist site as a way of forcing my self into finally tackling them by means of viral ecouragement or embarrassement, depending on my further commitment.
