huzzah, i have just realised that in order to solve my 'i dont know what uniform to give my crew because giving them one will date them to a specific show' problem, i simply have to design my own starfleet uniform

omg all of them are hilarious to me thoooo!! the fact that everyone, especially his husband will tell everyone they met bc he does fraud? the fact he denies it, but 100% does many 'small business' venture things on space tiktok that basically amount to scams? and ppl know that and are just Okay With It.

also the running thing of 'he's a reptile so he sheds but he is bad at it and needs help peeling his eyelids' is funnier to me if i assume everyone else on his planet deals with it just fine

Ehmell (Captain)- fave, that he's a hayes and it's funny to put him and naemys together, least fave is that i think he;s incredibly charming and that's gonna be hard to write lmao

Harry (CMO) - fave is that he is like 40% cybernetic and i love me a cyborg feature, least fave is that he is welsh and that means i have a hard time hearing his voice in my head bc that's one of the accents i can't keep ahold of in my head. or do when i play him in ttrpgs lol

Lewis (Head of security) - fave is that i have had him for forever and he is just a little jar of pissy attitude, least favourite is ever since prodigy he looks like i ripped off zero. promise i did not lmao

Anabelle (Science officer) - favourite is she the most similar t o me in that her long term plan is building a robot wife, least favourite is that her method of recording data is through vlogging the process and it's done like a 2010's youtuber would do it

Jerk (runs the bar) - fave, that fact jerk is like. a passably vulcan name. least favourite - none i think jerk the vulcan bartender is the best concept known to man

Wolf 359 fandom it's time for me to talk about the Hermes crew, also known as The Pictionary Kids. They had speaking roles in one (1) episode, #47 Into the Depths.

I have an unreasonable affection for them. Ever since I first heard them I have loved them. I'm constantly rotating them in my mind. They are like four little lego figures in a box that is spinning in my brain.

Thoughts (blue is headcanon, white is canon. I've also included the names of the VAs):

They are all my Little Guys. Let's get started on some specific headcanons. Some of these are purely my ideas, some of them are collaborative with people from the W359 Discord.

Following the pattern of AIs being fond of their comms officers, Percy is best buds with Jordan.

The Hermes is smaller than the Hephaestus; it's designed for a crew of 3-5 people. The Hermes crew is a couple years younger overall than the Heph 2.0 crew. Jordan is definitely particularly young.

They're the relay station, so they hear everything from everybody... They're lowkey gossiphounds. Especially Jordan and Percy! They have, like.... Girls' nights where they chat about the stuff that's going on. "you caught onto what the Ares crew are doing with their data right" "yeah why are they just sitting there with it they're supposed to be sending it back regularly" "I heard the comms officer couldn't get anything out because the captain was slacking on reports" like they're the relay station so they have all the space dirt. On that point, being a relay station, Jordan probably has a decently heavy workload, at least compared to Eiffel. Her job is very important there.

Bernoulli has joint custody of her 2 kids with her ex-husband back on Earth; they're staying with him while she's in space. I have a Whole Thing about how she likes gardening and grows roses in the Hermes' greenhouse (she smuggled her own seedlings aboard in plastic bags lmao). She takes care of the greenhouse just cause she wants to lol, it's not her job but she's doin it!!!

Birkhoff's family owns a farm. There are of course lots of bugs there. He loved them as a kid and he still does as an adult! He went into astrophysics instead of entomology because he acquired a burning obsession with the former in his late teens that he just couldn't shake. He did some emergency medical training in high school because he was worried about his aging parents in their rural community that was an hour away from the nearest hospital, then Goddard put him through more intensive training before sending him into space.

Jordan is really only there because she didn't get into art school, so she went into radio engineering instead. Turned out she had a bit of a talent for it. She did a year or two as a radio operator in the AF because she felt a little lost in life and wasn't sure where to go. She was always semi-jokingly interested in space flight, but of course she never really seriously pursued it because normal people don't get into NASA's flight program lmao. Then she jokingly applied at Goddard on a dare, and whoops she got the job.

Klein has ADHD. He always struggled in school but spent a lot of time tinkering, as many people with ADHD are wont to do. He ended up going to trade school to be an electrician, then discovered he really liked electrical engineering. Got his EE, was recruited by the Army at 24. He picked up some pretty substantial electronics engineering experience there as well as electrical engineering. Then Goddard snatched him up from his place there, and the rest is history. There's a running joke that he loves melons because his name autocorrected to "melon" multiple times, and he plays along with it because he thinks it's pretty funny.
