The Hermits were there for the beginning of Minecraft. Stories of them are passed down and they are viewed as myths. The DSMP don't believe in Hermitcraft after all why would a war ridden SMP believe in such a peaceful one? However, when one of the Hermits (Wels) literally drop into your SMP its hard to believe they dont exist.

Wels - He says he's a Knight but the Hermits are at least 90% sure that's a lie. After all, how can you be a knight if your existence predates kingdoms?

Xisuma - A Voidwalker, Voidwalkers were experimental mobs at the start of Minecraft before being scrapped due to being too strong for a normal mob

Etho - A glitch in Minecraft. At the start of his existence he was a monster, think biblical angel type monsters. The glitch ended up never being fixed after Etho disguised himself as a normal player and was eventually forgotten

Tango - He's from Hels. No one knows where his 'good' version is but does it even matter? Maybe the other Tango (nicknamed Fanta by the other Hermits) died, maybe they're lost. Maybe they just went missing.

Doc - Did you know? Creepers used to have goat horns. This was scrapped due to the horns being unnecesary. Doc was almost scrapped. The pieces of him that are missing were due to his species being pulled out of existence, himself almost going with the others.

Mumbo - Just a normal redstone user. Right? In fact, you'd be wrong. Just a redstone user who managed to lag Minecraft so bad he made himself lag. The lag doesn't really do much. Although the immortality (due to his existence being paused) is just an added bonus

Keralis - That's a good question. Where did Keralis come from? He's just been there as long as the Hermits can remember. Turns out he wasn't even supposed to be as far back in time as he was. After all, it takes time for a Time Traveller to master their powers

Scar - He's a wizard. Nowadays with mod packs, wizards are more common. Scar's magic is unique however. His magic came from long gone crystals found in bedrock blocks. I mean, bedrock did use to be breakable after all

Joe - He's Herobrine. People most of the time will laugh at his joke when he tells people it but when he changes back to his original self. Maybe then people are more convinced

Beef - He used to just be a normal guy who was there in the early days of Minecraft. However ever since he met Etho, he's been a walking omen for luck. Good luck? Bad luck? It depends on the day. One day he could walk by your redstone contraption and have it break down but on other days walk by you mining and help you find the biggest veins of diamonds you've seen

This is mostly Hermitcraft centric au and Wels' origin is purposefully vague lol)

ahaha, hey shawty, what if, i spammed about an au where the Hermits are people who existed since the beginning and are literal myths/legends and then Wels appears in the dsmp after a glitch when travelling with Cub to Season 7 and it turns out Hermycraft is more famous/infamous than he thought

The DSMP members are very (and rightfully so) freaked out by the Hermits,

"What do you mean your admin is a voidwalker i thought they were just myth! They don't even have those designs for creepers anymore. Your friend is Herobrine???"

Semi cursed idea: Joe Hills is Eret’s dad

Joe pops into the server and suddenly the aura around everything changes. The DSMP members are more on edge and nervous than they already are. Eret instead however, feels a comforting feeling, it's more nostalgic and nice.

Joe heads on over to the main area to go find his fellow Hermits, he's been wondering what they've been doing. However, time almost stops when he spots a tall, curly haired man with sunglasses covering blank eyes. He approaches the man who was heading on over to a castle.

"Eret?"

Eret stops in his tracks and turns around "Who- dad?" Joe walks over to him, "Eret! I haven't seen you in forever! You've gotten so much taller since last time!" Eret returned the hug his dad gave him.

A story about a father and son reuniting. How nice! Returning from the future however, covered in soot and clothes burnt, Keralis doesn't think they'll stay united. Oh well. For now, they can be happy.

h and ren are like “hey old pal, missed you a ton” but only through a ton of eyebrow raises as everyone else just watches like “why is the weird man hugging the wolf man? why are they acting like they know each other? what the fuck?”

then h comes and just drops all this random info about ren where people are like “how do you know this?” as h just doesn’t realize other people don’t have long lasting friendships with wolf men under their belts.

Hbomb just blurts out random facts about ALL the Hermits because holy heck his friends are so cool

Someone asks "How do you even know all this? Are you a History nerd or something" and he responds with "They're my friends?? How would I NOT know this??" which leads to shocked faces and confuses whispers. Only then does he realise. Oh. You're not meant to have immortal beings as your friends.

etho does stuff like teleporting all the time cause like he's a glitch he can do whatever he wants and who's gonna stop him?

this has freaked out a lot of dsmp members cause unlike ranboo there's no particles or anything that indicates etho has just appeared behind you

Yes! He doesn't appear in the server until later but he definitely does :D. They suspect Etho might be an Enderman hybrid considering the amount of hybrids in Hermitcraft. They reluctantly debunk that theory when Ranboo points out Etho is normal player height, doesnt leave particles and cant speak enderman language

ahaha *bites lip* lol imagine Grian in the DSMP because hasn't he been referred to has Grian Dreamslayer so haha Dream knowing exactly what the Hermits are capable of.

At the same time Hbomb is 100% chill with all the Hermits despite knowing what they can do

Now I can just imagine Tommy doing everything he can think of to try and trap the wolf so he could tame it. Cages, nets, pits, even redstone powered traps! But nothing works; the wolf always seems to get away. Eventually he becomes so frustrated that he storms off to the woods in the middle of the night with nothing but a big slab of meat, a rope, and a bunch of bones, determined to catch it the old fashioned way.

Easy to say that going out there blindly didn't quite work as planned. Soon enough he finds himself backed into a corner by monsters, supplies dropped as he tried to run away from the horde. He has no weapons, no way out, not even a single idea of where he is due to running so far out into the woods. His last canon life might as well be good as gone...

And then he hears a loud howl, followed by the massive wolf he was searching for leaping out of the brush and ripping the mobs to shreds in a matter of moments. And as soon as it appeared, it was gone, running off into the darkness and leaving Tommy all alone. Safe and alone.

Tommy no longer tries to catch or tame the wolf, but rather befriend it. Of course, he's still very determined with his task, setting out food and bones for it to snack on every chance he can. And sure enough, as several weeks go by, the wolf starts to appear for Tommy. And eventually, the wolf reveals himself as the man the teenager had heard in bedtime stories told to him as a child.

He's definitely shocked, when he was a child he looked up to Ren for being so scary and intimidating and now he's right here. in front of him. being a normal dude hanging out with not so normal friends. he'd think that Ren was off busy ruling over kingodms if the evidence against that was right in front of his eyes.

(a bonus of Tommy getting surprised that Hbomb managed to befriend Ren before him)
