“My Room Sparkles like an Electric Catfish!”

The upcoming Splatfest is another strange one:

At least it was easy for me to pick a side for this one. My room is spotless! I even have proof!

I love knitted things, and the colour blue! My room is way too small to make any major mess in there. I have a queen-sized bed and a huge wardrobe squeezed in there!

So, It’s no ‘tumblr’ bedroom, and the Hello Kitty teacup alarm clock really makes me question my age but whatever!

*Bonus Amiibo shot* They’ve been re-jiggled since being chucked in a bag, hauled downstairs, and scanned into Mario Maker. These little shelves I have tucked in next to my wardrobe are probably the messiest part of my room! I also tend to have books scattered about my room but that is because I’m writing a thesis on The Aeneid and I’m getting a bit stressed about it.

This is how much floor space I have! Just this!

So then, let’s clean up the competition!

I’ve been practising with the Hero Roller and I really like it. I can’t ink as much as I can with the Inkbrush but I certainly get more splats...and the Hero Roller Replica just looks so cool! I’d like to think that it sends the message like ‘fear me, I beat the final boss with this bloody thing, I know what I’m doing!’ I’ve been trying to switch up my gear to suit the Hero Roller’s abilities, while still looking quite fresh. I’ve ditched the nerdy paintbrush aesthetic I was rocking and replaced it with a sporty look.

Amiibo Challenge Victory!

*Warning: Spoilers ahead if you haven’t yet finished the Splatoon single player campaign or Amiibo challenges* Also, I’m still gushing about motion controls!

I finally plucked up enough courage to try the last Inkling Boy Amiibo challenge again…to defeat the final boss D.J Octavio with a roller. I’ve failed so many times at this challenge, but I was using dual stick controls. Since trialling motion controls I’ve found aiming with a roller to be so much easier. I assumed that hitting the fists and everything else would be so much easier with motion controls…and I was so right.

It took me two tries still, but it was so much easier and less stressful with the motion controls on. I ACTUALLY DID IT!

Sheldon’s face describes how I feel being able to buy this roller finally. I can now call myself a true roller main!

I quickly tested the roller in the testing area. I really like these purple and yellow inflatable test squids. I wish you could get them in real life, as an Amiibo or a cushion or something!

The only problem is…I’m kind of rusty with the original Splat Roller, which is essentially what the Hero Roller Replica is, just with a cool skin. So, I didn’t do as well as I usually do in Turf Wars, but I’m not used to the sub weapons or the motion controls yet! I don’t know what gear to use yet either. It feels kind of sluggish and the ink does seem to drain quite quickly so I might try swim speed up and ink saver (main). Blackbelly Skatepark was also in rotation, which is more suited to Inkbrushes or Dynamos out of the Roller weapons. I think a lot of people were using the recent server downtime to complete some Amiibo challenges as I actually saw a few fellow Hero Rollers in Turf Wars!

I’m glad I got the Inkling Boy Amiibo though. (I got the three pack!) It would be so much cooler if he were holding a Roller! Maybe they will release one with a roller one day!
