One of my primary interests is art history. Recently I was wondering how to combine that passion with my original fiction, which is so much more sci-fi oriented. The result is this — art and abstract self-depictions done by the Rex.
The first one is a depiction of the Metal War, a conflict which took place between the smaller terrestrial Rex of the Isthmus, and the larger amphibious Rex. The war completely changed the industrial and technological progress for all nations involved.
The second and third are part of an idiom. The Rex have massive dangerous mouths — but the mouths are also used to protect their young, carrying them like crocodiles do. The mouth attacks, but the mouth protects. The idiom is a warning and a reminder that that which can harm also can mend, as well as the other way around.
