The Daily Grind

Another day let out UA's halls emptied as the last stragglers of the day were exiting the building. Yoh gripped his bag tightly he was never in a rush to return home, as far as everyone knew he lives with his "mother" and perfect pro-hero father but in reality this wasn't the case. His mind wandered enough he'd barely realized he'd made it home, opening the door to the empty apartment he sighed. His real mother aka the mistress his "perfect" father had conceived a child with was already out on duty as a quirk control police officer.

Entering his home he kicked off his shoes and dragged his tired body to his room throwing his bag in the darkness. Suddenly the albino was met with the soft grunt of his bag hitting something. Now alert to an intruder Yoh became defensive as he was quick to flip the light switch.

The light revealed a familiar face to You, Dabi was sitting on his bed looking rather irritated At being smacked by the school bag. Yoh hadn't expected to see him much less in his house but he did relax slightly.

"How did you get in my house?"

"Breaking into apartments isn't very hard although I didn't expect your mom to still be home."

Yoh was tense again.

"You broke in when my mom was home?! What if she caught you!!"

"Don't worry I hid in your closet for about an hour until she left."

Dabi smirked smugly At the anxious albino who just sighed in response. Yoh was much too tired to argue between school and family discourse he was exhausted he felt himself drowning in the lies. Dabi could tell how broken he was feeling especially since communications between them had become even more complicated.

"Bad day?"

"As bad as everyday."

Yoh responded collapsed on his bed, Dabi sat beside him running his fingers through the albino's smooth long white hair.

"Hey just forget about it, I'm here now okay so we can just pretend the world doesn't exist for awhile."

Yoh turned his head slightly so his golden colored eye met the Dabi's ice blue eyes. His words may be temporary but with the bullshit he had to deal with it was better than nothing. Yoh sat up again as Dabi pulled a long stand of the white hair close before kissing it lightly, Yoh couldn't help but blush.

"Don't you ever feel scared, we could both get in so much trouble doing this."

"I stopped caring about getting in trouble a long time ago."

Dabi responded as he moved closer tilting Yoh's face up to meet his, just as their lips were about to meet Yoh's cellphone rang.

The high schooler nearly jumped out of his skin as he toppled over to grab the phone from his bag. Dabi was definitely disgruntled about the interruption but stayed in silence, he listened and watched as Yoh received his check in call from his mother. Business as usual as they say, Yoh finished up and sighed feeling guilty but the tall boy he looked up to just shrugged. Dabi wasn't going to guilt him about it, he was better than that.

"You hungry?"

Yoh asked hoping it would cut the tension.

"Sure got anything good?"

Yoh nodded as he went into the kitchen and reheated leftover curry from his dinner the night before.

The two sat eating and for once the house didn't feel so cold and empty to the young boy who lived everyday. After dinner Yoh apologized but he had to bathe after the day he'd had so Dabi sat outside the door as the albino bathed on the otherside.

"So... Did you get those bruises from hero training?"

Dabi asked sitting against the door, Yoh instinctively covered himself thinking Dabi might have peaked but realized there was no way. The boy stared at the ground guiltily before he could respond.

"You didn't think I'd notice huh? I'm not stupid I know how to tell."

"I know... I just don't like talking about it."

Yoh admitted wrapping his arm around himself for a moment.

Finishing up Yoh returned to his room tiredly laying in his bed beside Dabi, the older boy continued messing with his hair.

"I love how you never can dry your hair all the way to it feels silky still."

Dabi teased Yoh as the laid beside each other. Yoh smiled some trying to hold back a yawn, his face showed his exhaustion all to well.

"Get some sleep marshmallow."

"But if I fall asleep you'll leave. I just want you to stay a little longer, please Touya."

Dabi's sighed he pinched Yoh's bleached white cheek.

"You can't use my name and your puppy dog eyes to get what you want all the time marshmallow."

Yoh chuckled and yawned again despite his fight to keep awake he slowly drifted into much needed sleep. Once he was for sure asleep Dabi carefully climbed out of Yoh's bed to sneak out. He could rarely find the time and safety to visit Yoh And as much as he savored each moment he wasn't the type to push his luck.

"See ya next time marshmallow."

The next morning Yoh awoke to his alarm and slowly sat up looking over at the empty spot in his bed. Sighing he readied himself for the new day.

Here we have my boy Yoh and his bestest friend Kazuki interacting in school, so many things I love about this. For one they have nails painted in each others colors, secondly I love Kazuki’s many different face masks, and third you can feel the gossip and morbid jokes between them.
