Rikki was in the shop looking for something too, when she had gotten distracted. It was hard, trying to find a birthday present for Emma, when Rikki wasn’t really ‘great’ at the whole, ‘listening to what people like’ thing, but she was determined to find something without the help of Cleo, the third member of her friend group. Maybe getting distracted was a sign that she didn’t know what to do.

Wrapping her wings around the neck of her rescuer, Tutu squeezed her eyes shut. The catlike young man had scooped her out of the path of danger, and the two of them were now hurtling across the city rooftops, at breakneck speed.
