Every marriage had it's struggles. If it didn't, then something would be awfully wrong. The question was were they strong enough and loved each other so much to overcome those struggles together. Lord knows how much Dean and she had ups and downs, even gotten to the point of almost divorcing. But their little miracle happened and their son was born. Charlie was a dream come true, a perfect little boy who was growing up so fast and with him, so did they, both as parents and as a couple. The role of parenthood was something they embraced, Dean tried to be home more, Allison worked from home when it was possible.

The love and joy Charlie brought them made the couple decide and try for a second child just as their son turned four. Today, he was almost five and Allison still hasn't gotten pregnant. They've been trying, a lot, to the point it even killed the whole vibe of a sex act. Thanks to Dean working as a doctor, they even got checked, just to make sure everything was alright. And it was, thank the Lord, it just had to click at the right moment. Eventually, as it was starting to take a toll on their marriage, Dean and she agreed to stop trying. If it happens, it will, and they will be thrilled. If it doesn't, they have their sunshine Charlie to raise.

Lucky for the couple, their son loved staying with grandparents, be it hers or his parents. Allison and Dean needed some time for themselves, being full time parents, working and all, they didn't really get to put each other first. So after dropping Charlie off at her parents place, they took a prolonged weekend to go to the beach house. Allison woke up rather early on their second day here, after feeling sick last night which she described to eating too much food, and headed downstairs to prepare them breakfast. Dean worked so much and she always felt sorry for the lack of sleep he was getting. So she let him rest and prepared avocado toast, eggs, a platter of cheeses, ham and salami and was just brewing coffee when she heard footsteps behind her. "Good morning, handsome. You're just in time for breakfast."Allison turned around to smile at him. "How did you sleep?"

so, because i plan to return by the beginning of next week, here are some things.

If there was one thing Sophia was passionate about, it’s baking. That’s why she closed her shop every Monday night so she could teach kids about her passion. For todays lesson she taught them how to make some chocolate chip cookies, it was a simple recipe but she knew that kids loved it. “Things are looking good over here Tess, try adding some sprinkles or walnuts to a few of the cookies. My favorite is adding little caramel bits.” Sophia whispered to the girl as if it was a secret. She looked over at her father and smiled slightly. “You’re raising a true little baker. I might have to make her my assistant.” She teased playfully. Tess had been one of her favorite students, she could tell that the girl had potential especially when it came to baking.

“I know I’m the last person you want to see right now.” That was definitely not the way to start a conversation, especially with the person whose heart Lydia broke. Contrary to popular opinion, Lydia was trying. But she was never a person who boded well with feelings and some things never truly change. Where matters of the heart were concerned, she never handled them in the mature way her otherwise demeanor would have suggested. Instead, she much preferred to run away from them. If anyone were to ask her, she would blame her ex-marriage that crashed and burned but truthfully, it was something she never warmed up to the idea to. The thought of giving someone the opportunity to hurt Lydia... To put it simply: it terrified her. That’s why her walls were almost always up and to others, she was made of stone. But as much as she liked others to think she was impenetrable, she really wasn’t. Behind that stoic exterior was a woman who thrived on facts and knowledge and her career. When her own emotions got in the way, everything became messy and so she backed out.

They say you don’t know what you have until it’s gone. That was well and truly the case. It took her until now to realise that she needed to get what she needed to say out in the open. It was selfish of her; he was in a new relationship now, someone he should be happy with... yet here she was, about to thrust him into the eye of the storm, leaving a wreckage in her wake. Sounded like typical Lydia. But she plucked up the courage to be standing at his door, stupidly late at night, and she knew if she didn’t do it now then she never would. In all honesty, she was surprised that he’d even opened the door and let her in. But the awkwardness was radiating throughout her entire body; her rigid posture, dainty hands balled into fists like she was resisting against the current wave of emotions, like she was firmly keeping herself anchored to herself, to reality.

The tension surrounded them could be cut into with a knife, the silence that fell flat between them was practically aching her. She caused this; it was her own fault.  To think that the two of them used to be so close... and she destroyed it. This was the mess she made. “Before I say anything, I just want to let you know I don’t expect anything from you. It changes nothing about our current circumstances, I am aware of that. I’m making that perfectly transparent before I am accused of trying to meddle with... whatever you’ve got going on with whoever she is. I have something I’ve been meaning to say for a long time but never really found the right way of going about it.” Because she knew that it was the complete opposite of what she once told him, but she wasn’t about to tell him that. The way she spoke sounded almost professional, like she was laying out contractual obligations or like she was about to explain her findings from an autopsy. This was so she could detach herself from the thoughts running wild in her head.

"Before I start... I’m curious: do you love her?” This was definitely not the correct way to broach the subject. Tactless and not subtle at all. But it was a question that seared through mind and it was one she was curious to know.

“Don’t pretend you’re mad at me. I was ten minutes late and I texted you.” A coy smile lit across her face as she watching him, eyes narrowing slightly. “It’s not my fault that someone thought it was a good idea to let me sleep in by turning my alarm clock off this morning.”

The last place Savannah wanted to be at that moment was a stupid party, but considering her brother was the one holding the stupid thing, it was that much harder to avoid. He’d begged her to come, telling her that it would help get her mind off of the boy she’d been thinking about for weeks. Her brother, of course, had no idea that the boy who’d been occupying her mind had been his best friend and Savannah certainly had no plans to expose that secret. She’d had a crush on Adam for quite a long time now, but she knew he’d never see her as more than just his best friend’s little sister. At first she thought she’d be okay with that - at least he was in her life in some capacity - but it became more difficult as her feelings progressed. Now the idea of not having him at all was heartbreaking and the concept of him finding a girl that he loved was even worse than that. So Savannah had been doing her best to keep her distance from him ever since she realized how strong her feelings were. There was only so much she could do apparently, because not an hour into the party and she had already nearly collided with him as she walked from room to room. For a moment she couldn’t speak and then she let out a small sigh. “I didn’t know you were coming,” she said softly, her heart pounding in her chest.

Scarlett didn’t really know whether love was exactly for her, she never had done. She was silly and wild, being tied down to only one person for the rest of her life didn’t sound very much like her at all. That was why she’d finished things with Liam, she’d begun to feel that twisting feeling in her stomach, that feeling of doom - or as others called it, love. Scarlett had run a mile, but she’d always kept her eyes on him from afar. 

Months later and she was in front of him again, she hadn’t been able to keep herself away any longer. “I didn’t not love you,” she told him honestly. “But me? In love? That seemed like utter bullshit. I didn’t think I was the type to have such strong feelings for only one person but I did and I do. I ran because I loved you but now I want you back.”

Her hormones were driving her crazy; pregnancy wasn’t the easiest with her studying, going to classes, and trying to work on her marriage but two of them tried more than ever before to save what they have. The baby bump was visible but Allison was still able to hide it with oversized clothes since she really didn’t want professors and her colleagues asking her too many questions, she would graduate soon enough anyway. But now, after one night things got a bit heated between the two, and they slept together, it was like things went back to the same old; Dean was stuck at work most of the time, taking more shifts, and she was barely seeing him. Like they were avoiding each other each other, and because of what? Because they had sex? Her hormones shook her incredibly strong tonight and she called him in tears, knowing if she hears her like this he’ll actually come home. “Dean, I… Can you please come home? I’m… in a really weird mood whole day and I can’t stop crying and I need you. Please, just come home already.”she sniffled into her phone while leaving him a voice message and then just rolled on the bed, trying to calm herself by caressing her bump.
