I proposed 20 headlines to my boss for an outdoor advertisement. She rejected them all. So I spent the next few hours cracking my head before sending the second set.
Just for fun, I included several lines from the first draft in the new set. Yes, I lifted exactly the same rejected ones, hoping she would think they're newly crafted. Besides I thought they were already there in terms of fulfilling the objective of the task.
As expected, she chose that exact lines that had been originally discarded.
Plus she added " Yup, these are much better".
