He hadn't told Rick what he was going off to do. It was simply 'Oh I'm just going to go help a bit.' It as always the truth when he said it though. Rick had nothing to suspected.

Jared was wandering around, hands in his pockets. Of course he was pretending to be innocent. What he was up to was to find Daryl and bother him a bit with a thousand questions, brush up against him, and mess with his crossbow. It was just fun to bother the guy, but once in a while he did actually just sit down and have a chat with him. 

After walking around a bit, he did find the guy. Jared took his time walking up to him, almost sneaking. "Whatcha doin' there?" He popped up beside him, a smile on his face.
