this song gives me all the feelings about Shane & Leigh / Rick & Lori and then I cry about it because i just want the babies to all be happy and i want them to be neighbors and i want Leigh and Lori to have babies in the same year and I want them to be adorable preggy ladies at a hair salon with all the old ladies cooing around them and i want shane and rick to still be partners and i want carl to call shane 'uncle' and call leigh 'aunt' i want all the things
Maybe there is something left to talk about..
If he could be honest with himself, which he could, Rick hadn't been the same since what happened at the farm. It was winter, and they were in a barricaded house, freezing their asses off, Rick had long since given his wife his blanket, thinking it was enough, that he would find them shelter, keep them safe, then he and his wife could talk. Work through things. That had been his plan, it truly had, but that plan was beginning to fall apart, Lori was starting to look at him with this sort of deep sadness, and he didn't know how to fix it or make it better. And he couldn't remember the last time they had shared the same bed since after the farm.
So Rick tried, he tried more than he had. Maybe there still was something to talk about, something to work through. He climbed into the double sleeping bag he had found his wife, and instead of keeping watching on the couch, he held her, using his body warmth to warm hers, saying nothing because there wasnt anything he knew to say to make it better.

"Y'know-- I don't think I remember the last time my dad smiled before you guys came along. 'N Maggie, don't know if I've ever seen her like this. I'm really glad that we gotta stay with you guys. Don't think we would've lasted much longer, even if the farm didn't get over run,"

❝Y' not as annoyin' as I thought ya were.❞
leigh's idea of comedic relief for carl's waking after he'd been shot would be making up her own version of superhero stories and sitting there with the grimes and with hershel and shane and acting them all out just to see them all smile
"You can't die! Not here!"
Out in the middle of nowhere with no shelter from the outside world and no medicine on hand was a horrible time to get hurt. That was the horrible thing about the apocalypse. The days were unpredictable and running day in and day out made them more susceptible to accidents and injury. As Jake lay in the woods on his back, his eyes staring at the trees above him. He wasn't sure what happened or what had gotten him, but he knew he time was getting cut short. A tear slid down the side of his cheek, but there wasn't any pain. Actually he couldn't feel much at all. Jacoby blinked a few times in response to her screams, but he never turned his head or let his eyes try to find her. All he could do was mutter two words.
"I'm sorry."
