hestia's fire burns ice
Hestia, first and last, sacred goddess of hearth and home
I call upon you to protect the domestic worker - those who do the thankless work of caring for children and cleaning homes. May they be honored and rewarded.
O Hestia protect the migrant - those who leave the familiarity of their own homes and loved ones in search of a better life to support their families. May they be honored and rewarded.
Eternal Hestia may you protect those so often overlooked by society - the dishwashers, cooks, landscapers, nannies, maids, construction workers, and all those whose toil is used to build and maintain homes and society without thanks. May they be honored and rewarded.
Painting is The New American Gothic by Criselda Vasquez
I find it so beautiful and comforting that the Gods are literally everywhere. It makes mundane life feel magical.
Hestia is in the warmth of my morning cuppa and the aroma of our evening meals.
Apollon is in the sunrise and sunset (whether hidden by the clouds or not), and in the sudden rush of writing inspiration I get at the most inconvenient moments.
Dionysus is in the sweet glass of wine I share at the end of a long day and in the small comforts that make 'off' days manageable.
Even the Gods I'm not devoted to. I see them everywhere.
Zeus and Poseidon are in the smell of much-needed rain after a period of heat, and the spectacular storms that bring me so much joy.
Aphrodite is in the mirror when I look at my reflection and think - for once - maybe I don't look so bad.
Hera and Eros are in the gentle kisses and sleepily whispered 'I love you's' shared each day with my girlfriend...the constant thought that one day, this incredible woman will be my wife.
Athena is in the determination I feel when working on my postgrad assignments, and when I submit something I'm actually proud of.
Hypnos is in the refreshing feeling of a good night's sleep.
Artemis and Selene are in the glow of the moon when the skies go dark - the assurance that they are present even if they cannot be seen, for just like the sun, the moon always appears.
They're all there. A constant presence. A constant comfort. And they love me. They love us.

Devotional acts can be a perfect way for you to honour the gods if you can't make offerings or if you have to practice in secret (of course you can still do it in addition to typical offerings). But always remember that they don't need to be anything big and sometimes just taking a shower, getting out of bed or eating can be a devotional act if your mental health is making it difficult for you to practice. And even if you don't have the energy to practice at all, always remember that the gods understand and love you nonetheless<3
Zeus and Hera devotees who feel intimidated by them
Poseidon devotees who live far from the sea
Demeter devotees who live in the city
Hades and Persephone devotees who fear death
Dionysus devotees who are perplexed by madness
Aphrodite devotees who struggle to love themselves
Apollo devotees who struggle with inspiration
Artemis devotees who are saddened by animal death
Ares devotees who are too tired to keep fighting
Athena devotees who are easily manipulated
Hestia devotees with unstable home lives
Hermes devotees who get anxious over new things
Every one of you is so valid and so loved by your gods. They love you, and they want you to know it.

Prayer to Hestia for hard times
This prayer was written by me, and is part of a series of prayers to recite when going through rough times. Everyone is going through the ringer right now, given the state of everything, so hopefully this can help you get through some tough things too. Enjoy!
Praise be to Hestia, holy virgin goddess of the hearthfire,
Receiver of offerings, the first and the last,
Great goddess with warmth in her heart,
I call to you in my time of need!
Holy Hestia who presides over the home and state,
I ask that you intercede in my life to bring comfort and blessings,
For in my time of need I know that you, the gentlest of goddesses,
Will offer me the help I so desperately need.
It is your voice which soothes all hurts like a loving grandmother’s,
Your warmth which sinks deep into our bones to heal all wounds,
Your guidance which helps us see the best path for ourselves and loved ones;
You, O Hestia, are entrusted with tending the sacrificial flame
Through which all Olympians receive offerings,
And so too do I put my trust in your,
Giving you my heart and all its struggles, fully believing that you will see it through
And guide me to a better life.
Hail Hestia, daughter of richly-haired Rhea, goddess of good counsel,
The warmest and kindest of all the Olympians.
To Lady Hestia: Thank you for your support while I'm working with fire. I made a perfect stuffed pepper 🫑, ramen and adobo in the last three days including today.
I forgot take their pics and gobbled them up like a beast instead(... yh not very demure of me) but I dedicate all of it You. Here's a collage as my offering.
