greetings traveller. i am a witch in my late twenties cultivating a sacred space for my devotion of the Ladies of the Hearth, Hestia-Vesta. i primarily practice hearth & home witchcraft and moon witchcraft. i treat this blog like a pocket shrine and collection of resources to refer back to, and you can too!

Build a connection with your Deity by being grateful. Show them that you can see all the beautiful gifts they give you. Show them that the smallest thing doesn't go unnoticed. Show them that you see their love for you by thanking them with love.

Hestia to me

She is as gentle, warm, and calming as the flames in the hearth that she represents. She is the feeling of sitting by a fire in a cozy chair wrapped in a soft blanket, drinking hot chocolate out of a favorite mug while reading a favorite book. She is the joy of dinner dates, of coffee with friends, of holiday gatherings, of shopping for new furniture, of putting clean sheets on the beds, of having fresh flowers in the vase on the dining table.

She is the feeling of coming home after a journey, of seeing loved ones after a period of absence.

She is home itself. She is the security and comfort of home, the safety of those who dwell within.

She's like the loving aunt who always remembers your favorite treats. When a homemaker rests at the end of another day of housekeeping and treats themselves, she approves.

She loves seeing our family happy together. She smiles when our household asks for her blessings.

When we leave for yet another traveling adventure, she blows us kisses and sends us off with her love. And when it's time for us to return, she is here to welcome us home.

She is an eternal fire, forever radiating warmth and ease.

She is love. The love of family. The love of home.

I had the urge today to bake an offering for Hestia and so I made shortbread from scratch and dipped in milk chocolate! Ut turned out okay, definitely need to tweak the recipe I used but nonetheless I hope hestia likes my effort!

sorry i haven’t posted in a while. chronic illness, parenting an infant, full time job…etc. I haven’t had much time for witchcraft and worshipping. i also broke my hand last month so haven’t been able to do much of anything. May Queen Hestia forgive me.

I finally had some time today to bake a loaf of herb bread and do a small ritual for Lughnasadh. I offered Her the first slice as well as some orange juice and olive oil. May Queen Hestia be pleased.

I also thought it was fun and fitting my dress has little wheat sheaths on it

I want a Percy Jackson spinoff book about a demigod daughter of Hestia or Demeter who’s just obsessed with cooking/baking and the story’s pretty much just Dungeon Meshi where it all just revolves around food

I imagine since she’s Demeter/Hestia’s child, she’s so gifted at cooking that her food always comes out looking so perfect like those Instagram food pics. Her biggest dream is recovering old ancient food recipes and recreating them

it is so hard to unlearn that illness is not a moral failing because i’ve had 2 seizures within the past week after not having one in a year and for some reason my first thought is always “ah yes i must have angered the gods somehow” 🫩

part two to this vent: i fractured my hand during one of my seizures. unfortunately it is also my dominant hand and i’m stuck in a brace for 8 weeks. it is SO HARD not to feel like i’m failing Hestia by not engaging in daily worship due to my lack of 2 hands 🥲 i can’t cook or clean or even lift my own son or engage in any of my hobbies that require both hands and to top it all off my anti seizure medication makes me depressed and irritable. Hestia Basileia I hope you’re not too disappointed in me 😔

Gentle Hestia, Lady of the Hearth, as the day comes to its quiet end, I thank you for the warmth, comfort, and blessings you have given.

May your sacred flame watch over my home through the night. Bring peace to every room, rest to every heart, and protection to all who dwell within these walls.

Calm my mind, ease my worries, and let me sleep in safety and serenity. May I awaken renewed, grateful, and ready to carry your kindness into a new day.

Blessed Hestia, may your eternal flame ever burn within my heart.
