Alright, bear with me. I'm going to go a little bit into conspiracy theory territory here.
So, I was beginning to wonder about the Knights Templar in Hetalia. While I don't believe it was ever explicitly stated that he died, it does seem to be implied in the comics. And while I can totally understand the idea of him being dead and gone, I'm not inclined to believe that this is exactly canon. This is partially due to the fact that I personally don't see something as canon unless it is explicitly stated in the text or shown through clear visuals. (i.e. someone literally telling us in the series that he's dead or seeing the Templar's dead body).
But I was thinking, what if he's somehow still alive and out there somewhere?
Granted, the Knights Templar were all hunted down, excommunicated, and in many cases even outright executed by the Catholic Church. This leads many to believe that aph Knights Templar went with them. And seeing as he was never a country, and rather a Christian military order, it would make sense for him to disappear with the order itself.
But here's the thing. There's a chance that the Knights Templar never really died. And I'm talking about both the aph character and the organization. And no, I'm not talking about revival movements that people have made. I'm talking about different groups that supposedly branched off of the Knights Templar after they were officially disbanded.
Some say the knights regrouped outside of Europe. Others say that there's evidence that they went and found sanctuary within Ireland or Scotland, and it was there that the Templars ended up establishing the Freemasons, which was, according to conspiracy theorists, just a rebrand. It was their way to live on and do their work without the Catholic Church butting in. And while I won't get into it now, there's at least some evidence out there to support these theories. But going into those will take way too long, and I fear I'm already sounding a bit crazy.
So, my conclusion is this; if the conspiracy theories are true, that would mean it's possible that aph Knights Templar could still be alive. As for where he is, no one knows. He's not a country, so he could really be anywhere. And if you think that he's no longer here because the name of the Knights Templar is no longer recognized as an organization, I should remind you that Prussia still existed as just the Teutonic Knights. A group that was also a Christian military order. And if the Teutonic Knights could change their name to Prussia, then wouldn't that mean others could do the same? I think so.
Any thoughts? I'm curious as to what other's think.
The Teutonic Knights were created/founded in The Kingdom of Jerusalem which is in the middle east. he's also Albino (from what we can see) so it would make sense if he didnt have darker skin since it was also started by a germanic group
More historical bases, the Teutonic order orginally started as a hospital to treat the sick this more peaceful start to it. It would eventually change to him being an order durring the crusade to retake the holy land after the pope declared it as such. then the crusades happened. it ended up becoming a religous war (cuz it's about the holy land) Where the teutonic order would eventually retreat because they couldn't be the muslim powers at the time
So, what are the Male Nyotalia counterparts supposed to be like?
I'm aware that canonically, the Nyotalia counterparts are pretty much irrelevant to the series and were probably made for fun, but this has been bugging me for a while.
So, canonically, the female Nyos have personalities that are separate from their male counterparts. For example, Nyo!England is a "Kuudere" instead of a "Tsundere", Nyo!Russia is "emotionally unstable" instead of "childishly cruel", Nyo!France is more argumentative and protective of Canada, and Nyo!China is supposedly more difficult to read emotionally than China.
Female Nyos are also "stronger than their male counterparts." Nyo!Italy, Nyo!Romano, Nyo!America and Nyo!Germany are all total badasses and, according to Hima, "Hetalia with female Italy would not exist because she would keep beating everyone up."
We have all this info about the girls, but...what about the guys?
All we have are the canon designs, but no info on their personalities.
So I've been theorizing a bit. Let's say that the Nyos, regardless of gender, are meant to be stronger than their counterparts. With that in mind, would that make Nyo!Wy less of a Tsundere, or make Nyo!Belgium less insecure about his looks? With the way Hima writes his female characters, who are generally meant to be stronger than his male characters, this wouldn't make much sense.
I think a more likely theory is that the male Nyos are actually weaker and/or more soft-spoken in comparison to their female counterparts. I like to imagine that their personalities are like that of the first drafts of the original female characters (which would make sense in Nyo!Hungary's case since Hungary was originally going to be male and a pervert). But outside of that, perhaps Nyo!Belgium is all happy-go-lucky to compensate for low self-esteem? Is Nyo!Wy is a bit more aggressive and headstrong but secretly lonely (kinda like Ladonia)? Maybe Nyo!Belarus is more of a shy, mild-mannered Tsundere who mutters under his breath like how Belarus was originally meant to.
With that idea in mind, what do you guys think the Nyo!Guys' personalities would be like? I'm more than happy to hear your ideas, so please feel free to share(^-^)
Update: I forgot to include Nyo!Monaco, turns out he actually has a personality (against all odds😅).
"He's said to be strong, a gourmet, and enjoy driving, but he's rather bad at gambling despite the prevalence of casinos in Monaco. He owns a Japanese-style garden and has a weird, but good relationship with France, despite the one fight that they had (two days after the fight he said "It’s no good without big brother France" and they seem to have made up.) Oddly enough, the France he was depicted with, and as having an odd relationship with, was male France.
He was originally under Spain's protection, eventually wound up with France, then Italy, and then finally gained his independence with France's help, though he leans toward France nowadays." -Hetalia Archives
We can see here that Nyo!Monaco, while being considered "pretty strong", is still a lot more meek and soft-spoken compared to his female counterpart. Versus Monaco herself, who makes it abundantly clear from the moment you meet her that she bends backward for no one.
Thanks for further supporting my theory, HetaArchives.
This is also proof that the Nyos canonically coexist with their counterparts (other than Hima not specifying whether it was Canada or his Nyo that Nyo!France is protective of).
why do u think that turkey in hetalia wears a mask? (yeah I know I joked about it being a jojo reference cuz there's a city in turkey called kars and the villain kars from jojo has a stone mask, it looks much different from turkey's)
but for real
some say it's to cover up a scar, but he doesn't seem to have any scars?
maybe it's to appear cool and to be recognizable? to appear mysterious?
or maybe, in the past, he was very war-like, and in battle, he'd cover his eyes so his enemies wouldn't see his eye movements and thus, they'd be unable to predict what he'd do?
is it some sort of an anime trope?
orrrrr himaruya simply heard something about atatürk's mask, a monument in turkey that commemorates the founder/first president of the turkish republic but had no idea what the monument actually was and thought "ok I'ma give this character a mask" maybe hima's original idea was "the character's mask represents the monument" or "it was a gift" but later forgot that idea and drew the character with the mask during ottoman times cuz he began associating turkey with the mask

Just curious what the fandom thinks of the status of nations having kids, be it with other nations or with humans, and as it should be implied, this is in the context of a Standard Nationverse world, no human AUs or omegaverse or anything else as those are separate cases
so like,, assuming that EVERY country/nation/city/province/state/human settlement has some personification, there must be LOADS of these immortal guys running around in the nationverse
Imagine the humans having forums and theories where they try to find every personification of a place, suspecting people n everything.
Ivan: okay maybe playing ‘ whose family is the most dysfunctional’ last night wasn’t a good idea. Alfreds been crying in the bathroom for an hour. we can’t get him out…
Mathew: well what were you expecting, us to have had a good child-hood? why do you think Alfred acts so much like a kid now?
