People will really see Mike refusing to believe Will is dead in S1, relentlessly searching for him, and say "aww, they're such best friends"

And then see Mike still hold out hope that El is alive (but not actively search for her or anything) in S2 and say, "aww that's so romantic, they're soulmates, he never gave up on her"

Like?!? How is one platonic and one romantic, even though they're similar gestures?!
