Far East Movement - She’s On The Move
Continuation from this ( x ) | hevclements
“I suppose to let you know that I appreciate you and your friendship.”
★
Christopher lay back against the grass and tried to find an interesting constellation to stare at, he glanced at the girl next to him and wondered what was going on in her mind. He decided just to look back at the stars, they never changed, weren’t confusing. They were beautiful and on his worst days they reminded him that there were infinite possibilities. “I think if I were a muggle, I’d want to be an astronaut.” He admitted softly. There were questions he wanted to ask, even he heard the rumours going round about her and her friend Theo, he didn’t want to be used. If he asked her… it would come out wrong, it would sound stupid, it would just cause drama and tension. Better to just lie here and stare at the stars.
He moved his arm behind his head to support his neck and inhaled deeply, he liked the quiet, he felt it as if it was a physical thing, it settled on his skin reminding him to stay calm. His eyes settled on the moon. Chris had sat under that moon many times when panic attacks made sleep seem like a distant dream. His eyes flicked back to the stars, it was weird to think they were just plasma and gas sitting up there held by their own gravity. He glanced back over to Heather. He didn’t understand girls but he understood stars.
Taking a Chance || Heather & Christopher
Chris shrugged on a jacket wondering again if this was a good idea. He’d mostly asked Hevs out by accident anyway, and sure she was beautiful, sweet and funny but he wasn’t looking for a relationship right now. He’d wanted to make sure his anxiety was under control and he was on the right meds before even thinking about dating. His therapists words rang through his head, ‘you need to stop avoiding life out of fear.’ Maybe it was true, he’d been not going to classes, trying not to make too many friends, not dating all because he was afraid; afraid to have a panic attack on front of them. Afraid to scare them away. Afraid they’d turn out like his parents; caring at first but just get tired of trying. Maybe it was time to stop being afraid.
As he walked down the stairs he felt his nerves grow, he wasn’t good with girls, he always just got too nervous and ended up saying stupid things. And he kind of didn’t want this to go horrible. He got down to the Slytherin common room and looked around he didn’t see her yet. He sat on one of the couches and decided that even if it went horrible, it was progress, even if nothing else happened, he’d won against the fear. That was what he needed right now, to do things despite the normal caution holding him back. Even though he was pretty sure anything between him and Hevs wouldn’t work out, there was nothing wrong with taking a chance. He heard footsteps and glanced around.
