There he was, the 17th hero of Portland Oregon, duking it out once again with some common villain scum. CLASH, Desmond gets pushed back as does said villain- A man in a helmet and fluffy Jacket, very extravagant; stood before the tailed hero, his quirk was a shadow that also made portals.

"Sorry bud, but I got so many more fun things to do, so let's make things quick and you can join your buddy there." Knocked out not too far from Des was a person who was in body armor, fully covered, but them being slim and smaller left an impression of something more, even more so when the man stepped forward, his shadow creature taking form next to him, huffing smoke.

"I'll just kill you hero and take her back- - this is what we were fighting for by the way, do you know what this is hero?" He held out a vial in his hand.

'Desmond!' A voice picked up, his AI partner spoke, scanning the item.

"Shit is that...quirkbuff!?" Desmond didn't have time to lose, he darted forward, not thinking to using his stretching powers. Trying to get to the villain, if he put that in him then! With a roar the bull headed creature behind him threw out a fist, stretching itself, Des flipped over, but it wasn't an attack, it was a whiff to grab the masked person. And at that very same moment, the man took the vial to his neck and 'click' he injected himself.

The shadow now powered, pulsed over and over before roaring and opening a portal behind his owner- with a laugh, and the person he rescued in hand, he slowly started to go in. "No stop!" Desmond reached out, tackling him through the portal, sadly that ended up sending the three tumbling into the void.

' could you at least pretend you're taking this fight seriously instead of mooning over the tactician? i could tear you in half because you weren't paying attention. ' a growl left the taguel's lips, not even glancing towards the direction of the tactician's tent. training and brawling was something she took very seriously and the mage was so small that surely she could learn something from this too. if she could ever pay attention.

Crime was something Melina hoped would remain out of the picture. She may have been rambling on and on about a folklore tale only a few knew, but it really presented itself differently when it involved her. An ancient city, an ancient story, and an ancient elixir. That was a story only her and her father should've known. It was Whistler tradition at that point, no one else's. Yet nosy archaeologists kept popping themselves where they didn't belong. It was suffocating…

And the only close company, Tharja, couldn't give much of a care about it! Melina should've been angry; she felt something akin to anger deep within her core. The musician was upset, yet it was just another human nuisance. All she presented on the matter was one loud huff.

"It was meant only for Father and I," she began, doing rather well at masking being upset. "I had never heard it outside of his stories; not another soul could tell me what the Elixir of Life was. And I wouldn't of had it any other way. But it appears the best stories in life are the ones you can't have." At the time, she should've known better and kept her mouth shut. Now ever gravedigger in London wanted more and more information that neither her nor her father had. Whatever happened to 'no' being enough?

"Ambrosia, the City of Harmony, is real. That elixir may as well be, too. And now I have Father fixated on it. He's paranoid, as if something is about to happen to me. I feel fine." Melina admitted, telling the truth.

"What I'm not fine with is all this attention. Can't a girl have time to herself anymore?"

' i don't know what you did to get this book, but i'm.... thank you. really. ' for a woman with no past, robin couldn't help but feel a pull towards history, especially the magical history of ylisse and beyond. it was the beyond part that was difficult to study though, seeing as wars and conflict made it harder to gather materials.

' it wasn't too difficult though, was it? ' she would have to be blind not to see the way the other showered her with attention, but she wasn't cruel enough to take advantage of that for her own gain.
