Easily My Worst Idea
So uhhhhhhh I’m hoping to post this officially toward the end of May, but I’ve been writing a Gritty Mario Reboot because I’ve lost control of my life. Bowser’s a Russian mobster. Here’s an excerpt;
Mario took to guarding his brother's crib in between doing his chores. He watched his baby brother's eyes track invisible things moving across the ceiling, and learned how to make earplugs out of newspaper to make the crying bearable. When Luigi got bigger, Mario was the one who taught him how to throw a ball, how to herd the chickens, and how to disassemble a radio.
He was the one that Luigi told, "I can see ghosts."
It was Luigi's sixth birthday. He got a tiny toy race car. He didn't cry as much anymore, but he still flinched at sounds that didn't happen, and sights that weren't there. He was taller than Mario, and stick skinny.
The women at church blamed poor parenting.
Mario said, "Ghosts aren't real." He knew that because that was what the bishop said.
"They are," Luigi said. His eyes were too big for his head. His beakish nose and constant twitching gave him the appearance of a large, skinny bird. "They aren't good at talking."
This was a lie, though Luigi didn't know it.
The ghosts he saw were not Italian. They were English, French, and Polish. They had followed his father home from the war, and made their home in the crannies of space-time in the Marino home.
I looked away from Tumblr for like five minutes and came back to a handful of new followers.

...BUT with a caveat -- I keep meaning to get Properly Into this band because I know that I would like them if I gave them a proper chance, so the questions for "if I know them" aren't actually going to be interesting -- so, know them but don't Know know them, and in that case:
First song youtube took me to: first one that wasn't a full concert or didn't involve Taylor fucking Swift, what the fuck, was Sea of Love First Impression: oh yeah, this song! It's a good one! God. I love this guy's voice because he sounds like an honest-to-god grownup. Like I'd slot The National in with Bill Callahan. (Have they ever collaborated? I should look that up.) Do I like it?: Yeah, obv! Would I listen to more from them?: I just gotta make time for it, friend. Rate (from what I heard): 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7 | 8 | 9 | 10
That being said my favorite song that I already properly know of theirs is I Am Easy To Find. I lived in that song for three straight weeks.
