Jude’s glad that it couldn’t be himself because that would be way more responsibility than he’d be comfortable with. He wrinkles his nose some at the thought. “’S there a way to find a really trustworthy dog or squirrel or something? Animals tend to ‘ave better intentions than people an’ I don’t want to screw things up...”

13: Sexual Orientation? And, regardless of own orientation, thoughts on sexual orientation in general?

Jude is bisexual.

In general sexual orientation is something that belongs to the person. It’s not something that he really has the right to comment on. And it doesn’t make a person decent or indecent either.

Truth: Someone you know has gone through a horrific event. You are given the chance to go back in time and take their place, knowing you will now bear the consequences. Will you do it? Why or why not?

“...My first instinct would be to say yes. If it means tha’ I could spare tha’ person the pain an’ terror of wha’ ‘appened I’d do it in an ‘eartbeat.” Jude pauses. “But then I wonder what affect tha’ would ‘ave on the other person’s time line? Not tha’ I would ever want ‘er--them--to go through tha’. But wha’ would I screw up if I took their place? Would I make something even worse ‘appen?”

30: Reaction to sudden intrapersonal disaster (eg close family member suddenly dies)

Initially Jude’s reaction would most likely be disbelief. Not in the sense of denial but of shock and surprise. He sometimes gets so wrapped up in his life that he forgets things like this happen--and without warning. His behaviour afterwards would probably depend on the severity of the situation and what other people around him are going through. A lot of times he unintentionally gets his social cues from those around him.
