The Arts: Rebekkah Williamson - The Good Life

To start off the first segment of our ‘The Arts’ Tuesday, we like to give you a little background of what you can expect in the coming weeks. Every Tuesday we plan to showcase the talents of creative individuals representing the contemporary art scene by showcasing the latest and favorite pieces from their respected collections. In doing so, we hope to open the eyes of many to the ever-growing art world breewing within urban culture.

First up is an up and coming female painter from District of Columbia by the name of Rebekkah Williamson aka “Hey Sweets.” Rebekkah resides from the DMV area where she is among the breeding talent of young individuals curating a lasting impression on the local art scene. In this plot twisted painting, you can see how dynamic Rebekkah is creating a painting that draws inspiration from the Dropout Bear (Kanye West’s Mascot) and a beautifully sculptured body which in my opinion resembled Kim Kardashian. Whatever way you put it, it is absolutely amazing, and is the reason why we had to select it as the first showcase of our ‘The Arts’ Tuesdays.
