I was really interested in architecture before so I asked my senior about it and they said it was fun and I fell for it. But when I finally got accepted, my senior came to me saying "good luck with the deadlines and say bye to sleep" i thought he was joking.....he wasn't. And I hardly slept when I had upcoming final crit, my professor hadn't even approved my design 2 days before and that was the most frustrated days I had been. I hadn't made my mock up and posters, and I didn't sleep at all.
LOL THIS IS MY LIFE :)) but seriously it gets worse so you have to be dedicated or honestly it won’t work out for you. like my first degree we were a class of 75 or something and only graduated with 23 so that says a lot to you. I know them saying you won’t sleep seems like an exaggeration but it’s not. you won’t sleep, your entire semester is like finals, you know that two weeks before finals people stress and don’t sleep so they can study? that’s going to be you the entire duration of your studying, there’s no breaks, no rest, no end. I slept maybe? if I was lucky 3 hours a day if that, I would often go 24 or 48 hours no sleep like on the regular, not because of crits or anything just because of the amount of work
word of advice, don’t always change every little thing to please your teacher, this is your work that will go in your portfolio. learn and take everything into consideration but if you don’t think it fits in your concept then don’t do it and explain why based on your research. don’t be a pushover. and I can’t stress it enough, be tough, be a stone cold person so people can’t mess or take advantage of you
lol I’m so sick rn and can’t rest because I don’t have the luxury to do that
