💞: What was their first love like? 💔: Have they ever had their heart broken? If so, why or how did it happen?
Chase Young could count as a “first love,” in the same way his crushing on Kimiko might count. He’s never really had a first love...though he supposes some of the Time After Time timeline’s events might qualify, in his mind. Keeping Chase and Wuya captive and doing whatever he wanted with them because they were special, more so than the rest he kept in cages. He even told Wuya to her face that he thought he loved her, and Chase grew too furious when he tried and interrupted him with harsh laughter. Wuya didn’t react all that well either, which is understandable, considering the circumstances.
He’s never quite had his heart broken, exactly. He hasn’t gotten overly attached -- that’s the word he’d use, “overly;” he’s demiromantic -- to anyone yet. I could list the muses he has fallen head over heels for in their respective verses, though he hasn’t lost either of them:
@mermonstrous and @heylinlord, Dyris, the only Dyris muse I’ve ever seen, and the latter is a Chase.

The stream of unshed tears is louder than any rivulet young ears could ever hear, wailing for their outlet as they both refuse to let them flow. Outside the temple, there’s no place for the one akin him - willing to listen yet hesitant to talk, he’s both one unusual child and some parentless cub, wild and aloof once forced to expose yet forming claws and fangs. Out there, the world is savage and cruel... Out there, you have to be wary... Washed from dirt and enclosed in oversizing him linen, Ryou knows he should not forget this even within these walls, staying nearby but not letting anyone too close while these seemingly trivial sorrows would remain unnoticed.
But he recognizes the ones of her just as she appears to recognize his - the azure flames which brought no fright but curiosity, somehow she’s the only one who could catch so rarely sounding voice most often, unshaken in its quietness when he’s cautious to let its brook to purl. Out there, the ignorance prevails over understanding... He’s smart yet still too green to grasp it on his own, unmoving when the youthful mind is restless to try and find the reason for their scorn, born out of harebrained fearfulness.
“They were afraid... When men are afraid, the flows inside are running faster...”
“Is this why they deemed me such? Why did they fear, Wuya?”

# yee 40.) do they have a big family or a small family? no family?
Eureka, technically speaking, has a lot of kin, but I mean that in the most textbook sense of the word. Being born of the scub coral, Eureka and all other satellite beings of scub coral could technically be seen as related. Since Coralians take up the whole of the planet in some form or another, you could say that her kin are numerous, but to call them family isn’t all that accurate. The scub coral are plant-like more often than not, and though they are intelligent, they are an entirely different type of creature from humans. They are all part of the same collective consciousness. Family is conceptually unfamiliar to them, or at the very least, not a part of how they operate. Eureka came from the scub coral but it didn’t raise her or communicate frequently with her. It was humanity who was tasked with impressing upon Eureka and guiding her through life.
So in that sense, Eureka’s family is a found family of humans. Eureka’s family consists of the humans who are closest to her–mainly fellow members of the Gekkostate. Renton, the children she is raising, the Nirvash, Holland, Talho, and Adroc are some of the people she considers in a familial way.
haw # 43.) do they like living alone or with another person / other people?
Eureka was nearly always with somebody else back when she was in custody of Tresor Laboratories and would continue to be with people very frequently living as a deserter on the Gekkostate, but she isn’t particularly uncomfortable with the idea of being alone for most of her early life. Her military days in particular offered her an unusual amount of alone time, even if it wasn’t always huge amount. Any time she wasn’t in training or on active duty or being examined by an adult, she was mostly left to her own devices. Unfortunately, at the time she didn’t have a ton of devices to be left to. Eureka was extremely young when she was placed into military custody and a far cry from “sociable” or “developed”.
Now that Eureka is more of a fully realized individual, she isn’t very comfortable with being alone for long stretches of time. This is in part because her life has mostly consisted of time living with others, but also because Eureka has found other people to be an extremely effective tool for her own mental health. Eureka’s time in the military and her experiences as a war criminal have left her with a hefty PTSD diagnosis to deal with. She has a lot of regrets and anxieties about the world, but she has found that speaking with other people and touching other people has a powerfully grounding effect that helps her to stay in the present when she feels she’s at risk of losing herself.
# 19.) what are their phobias? do they have any at all?
I don’t think Eureka has any phobias that are particularly unusual, but she does have a healthy fear of loss as discussed in a previous post. Eureka’s life is built around specific people at many stages, especially before she begins to truly develop her own identity. The idea of being captured by authorities and/or losing Holland, Renton, or any of the children comes to utterly terrify her at a certain point in her development.
I also honestly hc that Eureka is a little freaked out by storms and certain things to do with the ocean when she travels to Okinawa in Astral Ocean. The Earth she’s from seems to have much milder weather patterns and much less varied seasons for the most part. She might be a little unprepared for weather that’s louder/more dangerous occurring at ground level. Also her Earth seems to have hardly any large bodies of water to speak of compared to our Earth or the Earth of Astral Ocean, so the ocean is as probably wondrous as it is frightening to her. Free-flying on a board at 40 miles up? Nothing. Swimming on a board where my feet cant touch the sand? Fuck no. No thanks.
