SOMETIME 1985 . HAWKINS, INDIANA .
( @heymorons / closed starter ! )
After dealing with the fiasco at Boston, Hellboy is given a new mission. To investigate the increase of random car accidents in the small towns of Indiana. As he surveys one town after another, the locals who knew the victims or who have experienced something paranormal share all sorts of accounts. It was a ghost. An alien. A monster.
Despite what others may think, majority of the folks Hellboy spoke to believe it’s just a misfortune. The accidents were merely accidents. Not a coincidence at all. But when the B.P.R.D. sent Hellboy samples and analysis, it was enough evidence to confirm his suspicion that whatever the hell was haunting County Road 26 — it has somehow branched out from its hometown.
Grew bored ? Possessed more power ? The motive is until now a blur. If the B.P.R.D pinpointed the accurate location, Hellboy thinks. The Cable Line Monster is visiting Hawkins next. And based on the patterns examined from the previous victims, he makes an educated guess as to which road they’d be having a showdown at. Once he catches it and beats the crap out of it —Hellboy can stop it from taking souls and leaving them on the side of the road.
With nothing much to do but wait for the monster’s arrival, Hellboy finds himself killing time inside the Hawkin’s Family Video Store. He rummages through the latest movies. Not many interesting films but last year were relatively great. Children of the Corn. Footloose. Ghostbusters. And yeah, even the Gremlins. Nonetheless, nothing beats his enjoyment when he watched the Lobster. Its production isn’t the best as it was shot around 1951 — but drunk Hellboy was amused.
❛ Hey you, ❜ he calls one of the store's staff members nearby. Once he got their attention, he asks casually, ❛ Got any films to recommend ? Any genre would do. ❜
