This is one side of Mumbai that I feel like is very often ignored and looked over, these homeless, helpless people. Mumbai is where the world’s most expensive personal residence is, yes that is true but just as true is that it is home to the world’s largest slum and to some of the world’s tuffest work conditions, most ruthless commute condition and the list just goes on. Now don’t get me wrong, I completely love this this city, I don’t see a reason why I wouldn’t! It’s just that why don’t we embrace our shortcomings, why do we have to ignore them, pretend like they aren’t there when thy absolutely are; rather than hiding them like scares let’s wear them like badges. Let’s help these people get education, equal rights, job opportunities, let’s treat them with the same kind of respect like we expect to be treated and let’s make Mumbai great again.
