The beginning of the challenge, woohoo you did it! A lot of the time starting is the hardest part. So, tell us a little bit about yourself! What are you studying currently, what where are you in your life right now? Are you happy with where you are right now? What are your goals in doing this challenge? (this is taken from the last challenge! I loved all the answers you guys gave for it so I’m bringing it back!)

Today, I am slightly anxious and also eager to start my semester. Today, I choose to plan and to relax. Toady, my goals are: booking appointments and adjusting my timetable to suit me.

I am studying Masters of IT and I am trying to get my life back on track after being in very harsh lock downs and some other things out of my control. I am happy where I am right not although I am not content with it. I know I could have achieved more but circumstances and events have not allowed me to.

The goal in doing this challenge is to make an effort to pay attention to how I am feeling day to day in an attempt to avoid burnout as much as I am able. There is also a secondary task where I want to become more confident with posting my writing online, I know many of my posts are of few words and that is simply because I get too anxious about posting long form non-informative content online.(there are several reasons for this)

These pieces will be adapted from my morning pages, so hopefully I will be able to keep up with it every day. Also I think i posted this a day late because I am idiot.

Hello! best of luck with the graduate school stuff. I am also working on my applications and it feels like I'm not doing anything right lol. You shared you had a strong personal statement before so any tips to help another struggling girlie out.

Awe thank you! That was me in the last picture, I was super sick haha but just coming back from a concert. Last one of the year!

For my personal statements, I dunno they just feel a lot stronger this year than they did last year. Last year everything was so rushed, I had no idea what I was doing but this year I’m trying to be on top of everything as best I can. My step by step process for personal statements went something like this:

1) asked people what my best traits are

2) took a list of my best personal and academic experiences and tried to fit those traits into those positions

3) wrote a first draft that sucked

4) looked specifically at what each school wanted to offer (for instance, UofA places a high demand on EDI experience)

5) edited it to fit that

6) added why I want to be an SLP

7) it’s too long shit I need to edit that down

8) oh wait I had a great idea in this other personal statement I wrote for this other school lemme just shuffle it around

9) fuck let me edit it down again

10) friends please look at this!

11) supervisor please don’t judge me too hard but take a peek at it please :)

12) cry and submit

13) get in hehe

Right now I’m on like… step 7. So, not too bad haha
