‘ that won’t be necessary, my lord. i’ve yet to finish the last dosage afforded me. ’ ( sc. 🍃 @heyue ! )
❝ you've been eyeing me strangely all night, sir kaeya, ❞ amber eyes met icy blue and zhongli tilted his head. that diamond pupil stood out amongst those he'd met in mondstadt, and yet he made no comment on its origins. left simply the two of them now, zhongli voiced his curiosity. ❝ observing quite closely. have i done something to displease you? ❞

‘ no. ’ and the tone was frigid. noticeably so. kaeya led by the constellation pavo, with words so adorned with flowers one might not see the biting thorns beneath them, rarely lost control over his distinct tonality. moreover, there was something about the funeral consultant that simply rubbed him the wrong way. the same inkling could not be said about venti, as secrets regarding the status as an archon ( or in this case, former ) was not that which seemed to make kaeya’s heckles rise. this was more instinctual, an unscratchable itch, something he desperately wanted just out of reach. information might be better sought out with kaeya’s brand of honeyed words, and yet, everything about his actions surrounding morax would prompt an involuntary growl. was this how it had felt when he first met venti ? had he simply become desensitised to the so - called agents of celestia ? he should ask ... he so desperately wants to ask — but instead kaeya puts on a front once more, schooling his face into an immaculate picture of pleasantry. ‘ no, no of course not, xiānsheng. whatever would give you that idea ? ’ kaeya’s laugh was dulcet, frustratingly deceptive. ‘ i’ve heard you’re partial to ozmanthus wine ? charles informed me that they’ve just received a new shipment. ’
❝ good evening, sir kaeya, ❞ zhongli greeted the knight with a respectful nod, sitting down across from where kaeya sat alone at a corner table. ❝ you never did decide to take me to dinner, but i'd like to know more about your beautiful city, and what better place to start than here with you? ❞
‘ an egregious mistake on my part. forgive me, it’s been some time since someone has been that forward. ’ forward ? that was most definitely an understatement. the commanding tone with which zhongli made the suggestion prior prompted a fluttery sensation in his chest, that familiar fight or flight reaction he loved so much. he wasn’t used to being the one pursued, more used to initiating the hunt whether it was for work or other matters. some would call his straightfoward approach brash, too debonair, but in all honesty they weren’t dissimilar to the way kaeya conducted himself when he was being calculating. then again, there was a difference between boldness and stupidity, depending on who one was approaching. the favonius knight liked to believe he was a healthy balance of both. one didn’t gain interesting life experience by being smart alone after all.
kaeya signaled to the waitress for a bottle of dandelion wine, wrapping a hand around the neck and keeping his eyes on zhongli as permafrost started to manifest around the glass of the bottle, chilling it to suit his desired temperature before pouring the both of them glasses. ‘ tell me, what about the city intrigues you ? what drew your interest first ? ’ bronzed lips rose in a smile just short of a toothy grin, shy of a conniving if not charming smirk. of course he hadn’t meant mondstadt, but could someone like zhongli tell ? time to find out he supposed. ‘ mondstadt culture is known for valuing freedom, happiness, a somewhat carefree way of thinking. if you’ve interest in the spirit of mondstadt then listen to the music. ’ glacial hued eyes rose to take in zhongli’s body language, posture, any expression given way by what kaeya was saying, but instead the knight found himself fixated on the warm colour of his hair, that striking red line beneath his eyes, or how devastatingly handsome he looked staring up from beneath long lashes.
‘ if it’s views you’re interested in, then i know a place of dotted lampgrass where the stars feel so close you can touch them. and, the weather really is the perfect kind for stargazing tonight. ’

Lumine was set to sail towards Inazuma in next few days , after the rights of parting , zhongli had provided enough information for her to know the uncomprehensive situation that surrounds Inazuma. She too has to prepare on what awaits for her in the place but as per now, she enjoyed her remaining moments in Liyue. The dock city was huge , compared to mondstadt however she still managed to bump into , familiar faces. One in particular is the previous Geo Anchor.
Pleasantries where exchanged, as they remained to stand still and observe the koi fishes in the famous marbled fish pond of Liyue. “ I’d surely come back here, if I had the opportunity again. “ Limune had stated before looking at Zhongli who was too in deep appreciation towards the beauty of the said place. “ Now that you resigned as the Rex Lapis, what are your plans as Zhong li? In my thoughts, you wouldn’t stay here just to watch your people as a human ? “ she asked , curiosity showing as to where he plans to head after this.
