but the problem is that the carbon tax doesnt fix anything. at all. Australia in comparison to so many other countries produces not that much ‘carbon’. the plan only works if every country paid a tax.

there’s no use making australians give up more money to help stop ruining the environment when countries like india and china have no tax, absolutely no regulation and dont give a fuck about raping the world for cash.
yeah sure but somewhere has to start so why not a wealthy country like Australia? If australia can considerably reduce the amount of crap we're putting in the atmosphere we can be a roll model for other countries.. we can't make/encourage countries like india and china to be more wise with environmental things if we're still pumping out crap ourselves. the bills are meant to rise so people are discouraged from using so much electricity! that's the point. and if you say that can't make a difference that's stupid because if everyone else is also working to use less electricity day-to-day, whether it's to save the environment or just their pocket, it will all come together as a considerable amount of energy saved, which can't be a bad thing.
