In the interest of attempting to keep his mind off his missing kid, Edward returned to his telescope. And this time, he had some visitors.

Returning a few hours later a bit more crispy and very smelly, Edward felt like shit. Thanks to the Alien Experiments Mod, Edward straight up died lol. Luckily, he was resurrected without any alterations. Which he should count his blessing because there was a chance he could've been revived as a zombie.

Fun fact: This man got abducted again right after this. Now there was no visible changes or memory loss so either a) he's pregnant, or b) nothing happened. To be confirmed next round.

Also, the police didn't find Rick so there's also that. To my understanding, teens who have run away should return on their own once they’re 2 days away from aging up. So he'll be MIA for this household, not sure if he'll pop up when I'm playing others.

Content with his life, thus far, Edward is constantly trying to improve himself, seeking knowledge wherever it can be found. He occasionally helps his close acquaintance, Mr. Mole, with tasks.

Opal loves her job, loves her friends, and especially loves her family. She wants to find a way to encourage her son to do more than just play games, but at least it makes him happy.

How could Rick's parents ever understand what he's going through? They've never had to deal with the stresses of being a teenager! The only person that seems to "get" him is his best friend, Violet.

Recognizing that their son won’t be joining them at the dinner table tonight, Edward sets aside some leftovers for Rick for later on. Meanwhile, he and Opal celebrate Edward’s promotion at work.

Though honestly, she’s more than a little miffed that he got a promotion and she didn’t, despite them both being qualified for one. She made sure not to show what she was feeling on her face, though.

Later that night, after his parents have went to bed and he had some leftovers, Rick called Violet to vent. They spent hours talking over the phone. To cheer him up and to take his mind off of things, Violet offered that they go out later in the week, just the two of them. Rick agreed with no hesitation.

...or at least that was supposed to be the plan. The next day, Rick ended up running away from home and is currently MIA somewhere in town. So uh, raincheck on that date I guess.

Realizing that Rick was no longer in the house and not being able to reach him on his cell, Opal ended up reporting him missing to the police. From their response, Opal's not very confident in their ability to find her son...

Edward's interest in science has expanded beyond the simple chemistry, space, etc. He wants to know more, he needs to know more. So he set himself up in the backyard with his telescope and his trusty flashlight. Unfortunately, no luck. He'd have to try again another night.

While Edward was doing that, Rick had invited Violet over to confess his feelings. Luckily for him, they are very much reciprocated - Violet had even told him she wondered when he was going to stop beating around the bush. Wanting to make their relationship official in a nicer, more private setting, they agreed to go on a date tomorrow night....

With his parents getting on his case about getting a part time job, Rick heads down to the library after school to find one. Ignoring his parents’ advice of going into something ‘worthwhile’, Rick sees an opening in the Gamer career and snags the opportunity.

Arriving home, Rick saw that parents were back from work. Deciding to rip off the band aid and tell his mom about his new part time job. He didn’t expect her to have the greatest reaction...but he also didn’t expect her to snap at him saying things like ‘gaming isn’t a job’, ‘hobbies are hobbies, not reliant forms of employment’ and ‘when are you going to stop being silly Rick and grow up from this stupidity’. Yeah Opal’s happy that he’s got a hobby that makes him happy but come on. There’s no financial longevity and stability in that.

Naturally he snapped right back at her and it snowballed from there. 

After storming away from one another, the mother and son duo tried to calm down in their own ways: Rick with video games and Opal with a nice bubble bath.

And where was Edward you ask? Cooking dinner and willfully ignoring the argument happening in the other room. After all, he can’t say he disagrees with what Opal said.
