Since the day I saw this in the theater 18 years ago, I've been nagged with this burning question: Why does this even exist?

Mockingbird Lane - Pilot (2012) IMDb
This was actually fairly awesome. Unfortunately it's owned by fucking NBC, which means it's doomed. You either know what I mean by that, or you don't. I have no time to explain the failings of network television or this particular network specifically, but the odds of Mockingbird Lane airing regularly are not good.
Eddie Izzard was fucking awesome. It's a long shot that we'll ever see more of this, but keep your fingers crossed.

Excision (2012) IMDb
Tale about a girl going through a very fucking awkward phase. Throughout the entire film you just keep saying to yourself, "this is not going to end well... this is not going to end well... oh my, this is not going to end well. This film is not a gore fest, instead it's a trip down the rabbit hole that is teenage sociopath behavior taken to extremes. Not normally my bag, but I really enjoyed this. Some great imagery and acting at work here.

Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2003) IMDb
Horror remakes are a dime a dozen, and some of them are even good; this one is GREAT! Purists and elitists will balk at anything that's re-imagined or tinkered with, but some of us Horror fans embrace those that pass the sniff test. The more the marrier, we say. This version of the film brings a lot to the table, and the production value is through the roof. Every one of the actors in this film are suburb and believable, and the cinematography is out of this world.
People will always remember R. Lee Ermey for kicking us in the balls in Full Metal Jacket, but I'll remember him cutting them off in Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Brilliant casting! Also, this was directed by Marcus Nispel, who once directed a great music video for Faith No More; A Small Victory off of their album Angel Dust.
I would loved to have seen a sequel to this that re-imagined the original sequel with Dennis Hopper. Instead we got a prequel..

Wishmaster (1997) IMDb - Buy from Amazon.com
Wishmaster plays fairly fast and loose with its owns rules, but it's a hell of a lot of fun and the effects are pretty great for 1997 mainstream horror. This should have made for a great franchise but NOOOOO.
Extra points for having Kane Hodder and Robert Engund in the same movie.
I saw what Adam had seen on the morning of creation - the miracle, moment by moment, of naked existence...flowers shining with their own inner light and all but quivering under the pressure of the significance with which they were charged.
Aldous Huxley, in THE DOORS OF PERCEPTION, the book in which he maintained that the mind's potential is being controlled by a valve (or a door), and you could open that through LSD.
