I was always indifferent about how I looked. I think I was just satisfied with my appearance. One thing that a lot of people struggle with is their perception of themselves. I wish I could convince everyone to feel about themselves the way I feel about myself. I want people to furiously and confidently be who they are. You need to accept yourself wholeheartedly, and one way to do that is to come to terms with “you look how you look.” This sono-essay consists of my views on being confident with one’s appearance and how my best friend Shannon is gradually growing to unapologetically be herself without being worried about her selfies being judged on social media.
