The flame of his lantern gently flickered as he watched his partner emerge from their chamber. “What seems to be troubling you my dear?” Adaru gently questioned.

Adaru sat next to his lover, engulfing them with his large body. Despite enjoying seeing people in distress his lover was the exception. And he would do anything to remedy the pain they felt.

Adaru carded his long fingers through the person whom, resided in his arms, hair. “Every step taken, every decision made, has led you to this moment. Please allow me to help you forget your woes,” Fear gently whispered.

The combination of his warm embrace, his loving words and his hair calmed them down lulling them into a state between sleep and consciousness.
