Looong rant and ideas under the cut!
A few notes!! obviously i took role reversal and made WAY too much lore to go along with it, so in reality it turned into more of a swap au that had charlie take alastor's place, alastor takes vox's, and vox takes charlie's. However the focus of these sketches are mainly vox and charlie as, well. staticbelle (heart eyes). I tried, mostly for fun, to create an environment where they could take these different roles without majorly changing personality (though obviously there's some of that involved to make this work). I also eventually just kind of started mixing and matching elements of their stories... trust me bro i promise there's some fun ideas here LOL
A basic rundown of the aforementioned ideas:
Vox may or may not be an overlord for a period of time, but for the most part is a loser baby creature. during a fight amongst overlords he loses most of his power, contacts, etc. and is forced to run off and hide. forced to swap his head for a cheaper model and the left side of his screen is shattered (whether due to an angelic weapon or something of the sort, leading to him being unable to hypnotize people...)
From there to a hotel for redemption has a few ways it could go, but i imagined it could be a different way for him to have his "i'll show everyone" thing. he'll make it to those pearly gates one way or another... i imagine his motivations for running the hotel would be somewhat selfish in nature, mostly wanting to prove redemption is possible to see if he could get to heaven perchance, rather than any altruistic ideals. Alternatively, he might have also made some sort of deal for power that forced him to disappear for 7 years and then forced him to pursue this "redemption" idea... i don't feel like thinking about the lore implications but they're There
Charlie here is... a mix of things. I imagine she takes more heavily after Lucifer in his distaste for hell and sinners, distancing herself from those she views as "inferior" or lesser, yet at the same time wanting to live up to her mother's ideal. In this au Lilith also disappears for 7 years, and Charlie's definitely got some. "how wasn't i enough to get you and dad to pay attention to me" type beat shit. She's got Parent issues, thus, similarly to Vox... "she'll show them all". She sort of takes Alastor's role as the hotel's host but maintains the proactivity of Vox in ss2 who takes very clear action to further his goals. I'd say she's less of a sleeper agent as Alastor is lol
So, Vox runs a silly redemption hotel and Charlie, who has made her dislike for sinners clear, decides to join into the fun! what could go wrong? She might join purely to enjoy watching sinners stumble and fall, or looking to benefit from this in some way (rule heaven & hell, her divine birthright, denied from her conception... yadda yadda...... more spiel...... you get the idea she's insecure LOL)
mwah vox and charlie paralleling arcs about identity and self esteem and destiny or something. i love them so dearly i'm obsessed with them
Swap au lineups :) alastor takes vox's place here, with husk and niffty becoming part of his "group", though in truth their souls belong to him and the idea of each of them as independent overlords is a front. Husk is none very happy about Technically owning his things yet being perfectly aware that in a second it could all be taken away..
