10. worst part of fanon -
this is a tricky one! dialtown fandom is small enough that poking too hard at it always feels a little targeted so this is more about broad trends and i think the one that comes to me most is just. spoken with love but dialtown is one of those pieces of media i think the fandom is a bit beneath and this sounds SO pretentious to say but there's a lot more thought put into the game than i think the average, like, gingiolandy poster can or really cares to get into. it's very blorbable by virtue of being a dating vn but it's also a very clever game that i wish it didn't get somewhat steamrolled by flagship characters and found family and whatnot. but thats the fate of most fandoms methinks.
seguing into next answer...
22. your favorite part of canon that everyone else ignores -
the comparative lack of reception the roger dlc got for what is not only a sequel-length undertaking, a massive improvement in writing, a massive improvement in assets, a super fun and engaging setting all of its own, but some of the most hard-hitting this game has ever been in almost every way conceivable, FOR FIVE DOLLARS, makes me like. pretty upset i'll be real.
it's one of those things that's so good that i expected it to completely turn the fandom on its head and change the way people talk about this game and be a massive fandom event, and maybe i just haven't been looking in the right places, but it feels like it... wasn't? a lot of it owes to being a small fandom, but roger dlc has so much thought and work put in and is SO worthy of analysis as a complete story on its own and also is so fun and entertaining and has so MUCH that it sincerely saddens me that i can't just beam into the world the respect this thing deserves because making people experience it requires also making people experience the base game, which i love to pieces, but i consider the roger dlc higher quality than the base game and some of the best dialtown has to offer but also by virtue of being something you will probably do last... less people will experience it!
also i'm so attached to my oc who is joe's wife she's real to me
