A couple various artist fanbooks arrived today, and the one I was most interested in was R-Generation 25. I had seen a few of the samples before, and knew there were some gorgeous full page illustrations that really looked intriguing and I hadn’t seen on the web fully.
They really are amazing to browse through, and all the varying styles and techniques are beautiful to admire, such as the X and Alia one above. There’s a smaller section with a bunch of nice guest illustrations, all with their own flair, too.
However, the thing that surprised me the most was at the end of the book, where the 25th Anniversay art collab collage that many of us participated in was condensed onto a full page. Hey, there’s my Bubbleman.EXE playing Wily-dress-up with a Guardian statue! And if I squint, there’s my Plug Man! This book has been out for 4 years, and I never knew my art was technically published in a Japanese fanbook! Did any of you?! Can you find your pic?
And just now, I go back to that original collab link and see they apologized for not contacting all of us about it being published. Haha, I’m so late to knowing this info...
Now, where’s my Akane and Servbot playing Gameboy together?! Any Akane and Servbot...? Separated even?
Nope, they were cut. :/ Ah well, wasn’t my best work anyhow...
