Sure, you can use pretty much any ability anywhere, but you should also consider the terrain when deciding which ability to choose! Areas with long flat land will be best for Wheel, while areas with tight corridors and numerous slopes will be best for Laser, and extremely vertical areas will promote Hi-jump! Technically you could probably go through all of these with, say, Spark, but using the optimal ability will let you progress with far greater ease and efficiency!

Can you use the Mario copy ability to backwards long jump?

I could probably find a way to do it with the Hi-Jump ability! And let’s face it, if I copied Mario normally that’s totally the ability I would get from him, jumping is his THING after all!
