Years after her own personal struggle to overcome the feeling of childhood abandonment, filmmaker Meschida Philip returned to Grenada in search of others with similar childhood experiences, to find out how their lives were impacted after their parents migrated. Passage, by Kareem Mortimer “PASSAGE,” tells the story of a young woman and her brother fighting for survival while being smuggled into the US on a fishing vessel. and "The Seawall" A Film by @i.am.mason_richards “The Seawall,” a narrative short film shot entirely on location in Georgetown, Guyana, tells the story of Marjorie, a Guyanese woman, who is preparing for her 10-year old grandson’s move to America to be with his mother. Struggling with loneliness, and abandonment, audiences watch as Marjorie sacrifices her happiness for her grandson’s future.
