Hanahaki and Soulmates [HiccElsa].
Disclaimer: English isn't my first language so I'm sorry if something is not very clear.
First of all, what is Hanahaki?
Is a fictional disease in which the victim coughs up flower petals when they suffer from one-sided love. It ends when the beloved returns their feelings, or when the victim dies. It can be cured through surgical removal, but when the infection is removed, the victim's romantic feelings for their love also disappear.
Ok, now hear me out.
I want you to picture this: Elsa as the fifth spirit, living a happy life in the forest with the Northuldra, everything is nornal, everything is going well, her life is finally calm and pacific...
Until one day, out of nowhere, she starts coughing white and read crocuses (yk, Arendelle's symbol). She doesn't understand what is happening so she looks for answers in the Ahtohallan, she founds nothing, so she goes and asks Yelana, but she can't give her any answer or solution. Starting to panic because the pain is increasing, she asks Grand Pabbie. Also nothing.
Desperate, Elsa goes back to Arendelle, tells Anna everything and begs her to look for help in other kingdoms. They try with Rapunzel's magic hair, that only minimizes a little bit the pain. Try with the witch of DunBroch but she knows nothing about Elsa's problems. Try even in the Southern Isles but, even when they actually want to help, they achieve nothing.
Until this random japanese boy named Tadashi Hamada recognizes the former queen's disease: Hanahaki.
But here's the next problem: she is not in love with nobody.
However, now Yelana knows how to help, taking acount what the disease means, she knows the solution. Her soulmate, Elsa's soulmate has died or married to some else, normal people don't react when they lost their soulmate, but as a spirit of the nature, losing her soulmate can kill her.
And, of course, Hiccup is Elsa's soulmate but he's married to Astrid. Also, Elsa does not know who the hell is her soulmate, she didn't even know about all the soulmate stuff, but now she has to find her soulmate (aka Hiccup) and wish for them to not be dead or happily married.
Just imagine Elsa going throught a extremely painful broken heart because her soulmate, a person she doesn't know anything about, has just married some else. She would be so desperate and confused, looking around all the world for a lover she thought she'll never want nor need.
Just imagine what will happen once Hiccup and Elsa meet, once she finds him and begs for his help because she is dying for not being able to be with him. Just imagine Hiccup being so confused about his feelings, because yes, he indeed can feel there's something special between them, he can feel it. But he is still in love with Astrid, he can forguet everything they went throught for this random lady that came out of nowhere.
I... just imagine that, is so painful and wonderful at the same time... I need to write about that, I need to read about this idea.
