I wrote a story for the Hidden Oaks Podcast about a waitress and bartender who were sucked into a haunted version of Big Buck Hunter and nearly killed by pixelated wild animals. The story took place at a bar in Fridley near where I grew up. It used to be Joe DiMaggios but was changed to Shortstops. In the story we couldn’t call it Big Buck Hunter because it took place in the 90’s and this game wasn’t out yet (historical accuracy intact), so we called it something else. Seems like a good post to return to Instagram with. Did some recording recently for Hidden Oaks Podcast with my fellow creators. Really good and insightful discussion about the story, having this monster stuck in my head for a decade, plot decisions, creative processes, and much, much more. In fact, there is so much material I can’t completely remember it all. I wish I could blame it on the delicious Old Fashions and sour apple Moonshine, but it was just a lot of talking. I realized I had promoted Hidden Oaks a bunch on my blog and not on here. Hidden Oaks is a fictional podcast. It’s a horror/suspense serialized story that publishes every Wednesday. It’s got a simple premise. A monster wakes up in a haunted forest in 1990’s New Brighton, Minnesota. This causes a maelstrom of supernatural events to hit the surrounding neighborhood.
